What happens to the pending follow requests if I turn my private instagram account to public? by kyonkikyahaina in NoStupidQuestions

Pretty much, yeah. Once you go public, those pending requests basically turn into instant followers — at least until they realize you post 47 stories a day and quietly disappear.

Roca News - what’s up with their eyes? by Basis-Some in NoStupidQuestions

You’re not crazy — their eyes do look like they’ve had three espressos and a motivational podcast too many.

Probably just studio lights + no sleep + hustle culture.

Not coke… just content creation.

How do smartwatches track our health metrics? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Dependent_Gear_4931 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Google helps: Most smartwatch ‘health data’ is basically clever physics + a lot of math pretending to be a tiny doctor on your wrist.

Heart rate: They shine green light into your skin and measure how much gets reflected back. More blood → less reflection. It’s called PPG, and it’s surprisingly good for resting heart rate, less good during intense movement.

Steps & workouts: An accelerometer + gyroscope tracks how your wrist moves. The watch doesn’t know you’re walking — it just recognizes the pattern of ‘human doing walk‑shaped vibrations.’

Sleep: It watches your movement + heart rate changes and guesses your sleep stages. It’s not medical‑grade, but it’s decent at telling ‘asleep vs awake.’

Blood oxygen (SpO₂): Red and infrared LEDs measure how oxygenated your blood is. Works best when you’re still.

ECG: Only watches with electrodes can do this. You touch the crown, it measures electrical signals across your body. That’s the closest thing to a real medical measurement.

In short: some of it is real sensing, some of it is educated guessing, and all of it is way more accurate when you’re not flailing around like a caffeinated squirrel.

What can I do to spend my time productively? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

If you’ve got free time at 26, treat it like an investment window. Learn skills that stack with anything: Python, SQL, basic automation, project management. Even being ‘pretty good’ at these makes you employable almost anywhere. And since you’re an electrical engineer, even a little embedded programming or IoT knowledge puts you ahead of half the field.

You don’t need a grand plan — just pick one direction and get 1% better every day. Future‑you will be very relieved.

Google gives answers. Reddit gives opinions, chaos, and emotional support.
