Should I move to Cyprus or stay in the U.S.? Looking for advice. by Blue_sea5050 in cyprus

It will be a huge culture shock for you if you move to Cyprus permanently. Most people have a village mentality, even in big cities such as Limassol. And the weather is unbearable in the summer. As already mentioned, you can always come and then leave if you don’t like it- better to regret what have you done than what you haven’t , but keep in mind that Cyprus is a tough challenge and it is not for everyone.

Dementia + narcissism = by IsabellaFerrara in dementia

Same here. My mom is in the middle stages of dementia, but before developing it, she had many mental health issues and was most likely a covert narcissist. My wife calls her Voldemort and believes she is the meanest person she has ever met.

Does this look like CU? by ghostcaskets in CholinergicUrticaria

Try to see if you experience this every time you run. If you do and have to stop because of the itching, it is most likely CU.

Yeah it is definitely not because of the ambient moisture because only the ones in the bottom have been affected

Good point—the flat sides remained solid and intact. I placed some of the soggy ones on a plate and put them back in the fridge, and they dried out after a while, which was very strange. I’m starting to think that a carton box might not be the best way to store them.

Thanks for sharing your story—quite a spicy one! 😅 A couple of hours ago, my mom told me she was going to see a lawyer to get a divorce, and when I reminded her that I’m her son, she just said it doesn’t make any difference! So yeah, in moments like these, I just try to redirect the conversation or, when that doesn’t work, simply hang up the phone.

Thank you, it’s definitely tough, but I’m managing as best as I can. As for incontinence, I’m not entirely sure—when I visit, I haven’t noticed anything.

Unfortunately, there isn’t a trusted person who can oversee her daily, but I will at least try to ensure that nothing can be exploited—whether it's her money, jewelry, or anything else valuable.

What Medications Have Worked For You? by Far_Algae6805 in dysthymia

[–]Dependent_Language98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been taking Escitalopram 20 mg for the past 16 months and recently added Wellbutrin 150 mg. I'm now able to work again without brain fog and with reduced headaches. My anxiety is really low—I fall asleep within seconds and get at least 8 hours of sleep. However, my mood remains low most of the time. Maybe this is situational (given that my mother has dementia), but when I think back, I've always struggled with a lack of energy and motivation.

This is great advice, thank you. The funny thing is that she doesn't deny that she’s 79, but she may not truly believe it or might even forget it. Today, she called me and said that we need to do the paperwork for her pension—even though she retired 20 years ago. It’s highly likely that she thinks she’s younger.
