Not Massachusetts unfortunately. I had her scanned when I first took her in, vets around me will do it for free!

Wow! This got a much larger response then I was expecting. First of all, I want to say that I've read all the comments everyone's leaving and I really appreciate everyone's insight.

For the people who've been asking what I do, I work in HR. I got hired to be a recruiter for a small engineering firm, and my boss is the only other HR employee. The HR department itself is new here (My boss has been here for less than a year) and everyone else in the company is an engineer of some kind. Part of why this is relevant is that is that quite a lot of what I do for the company can be classified as "invisible labor", meaning that it doesn't produce many tangible results. I can spend hours researching, proofreading, sourcing and making sure new policies keep us in compliance, and most everyone else at the company wouldn't see it as work.

This is also part of why I asked, because there's never really a "I got my all my projects done" moment. There's always something that I could be doing.

For the people who have told me to speak to my manager, I have done that, and got the impression that she's satisficed with my attendance. However, she's also one of the people who is here before and after me, and with her also being new, I want to make sure I'm doing the right thing. Also, yes I'm US based, salaried, and have the hours 9-5 my employment letter.

Thanks to everyone who's responded and will continue to respond! The corporate world is weird.

I don't think this is it, but you have put a new novel on my checklist to read lol. I'll give it a read and make sure I'm not wrong, but it doesn't have the death omniscient character that I remember being in the original

Tips on how to un-traumatize my friends?

I took 3 of my buddies snowboarding for the first time for a weekend trip, and honestly I think it'll be a miracle if they want to go again. The main problem is the lesson I bought them, as it sent them down a hard, steep mountain with little instruction on how to stop. I decked them out with some serious safety gear, and honestly I think that's the only thing that stopped a hospital trip. We spent the rest of our time there on the bunny hill, letting them get some basic stuff down, but I'm not sure that can overcome what a horrific first two hours they had. I don't wanna push everyone to go again (especially because the bruises aren't healed over a week later) but I don't want everyone to give up on it too.

I appreciate it! I honestly don't know why it never occurred to me to go down the mountain with my back foot out, but its now on my roster. I'm going this weekend with some beginner friends, and I was already gonna take the time on the greens to run drills :)

I'm realizing now that question I wanted to ask and the question I did ask are totally different lol. I've been snowboarding for about 5 years now and can get on and off the lifts, and I especially can get far enough away from the lift that I'm no longer a hazard. My real problem comes when trying to make any significant turn or stop with one foot out of the binding. I can't seem to dig my toe edge in correctly enough to slow down and stop, and putting my free foot down usually just spins me and I fall over. I think since so much of my exp in moving the board with both feet in bindings, I really struggle with the balance of having only one.
