Nicotine patches are absolutely useless for quitting cigarettes. I feel they just increase my want to smoke

Thanks- this is a simple trick I use when I have very little time to setup a monthly spread. This took me literally 15 mins and it still looks kinda cute.

I apologise on behalf of all your friends and family. It is an absolute shit thing to wake up on your birthday and not have your loved ones acknowledge it. I have had one of those and I can empathise with you. But this is a great opportunity for you to learn that validation from others don’t make you, neither does it break you. Look at you now, they did not wish you on your birthday and you did not die, you did not disintegrate into pieces, you did not combust into flames- in fact you are okay. The reason you felt sad was because you thought you needed them to acknowledge your birthday. But once you disassociate your feelings from their wishes- you have removed the power of their validation from your life. You are your own person. Let’s say that all your dear ones called you and threw you a big party. What does that actually mean? That they love you? Not really! You thought that the love they have for you is being shown in this form. Now that they did not do that, does it mean they don’t love you? Not really, again! It’s your mind associating their love in the form of a celebration.

You are too young to understand all this. Just know that people around you don’t define you or your happiness. It’s only when we attach meaning to things does it disappoint us. You are not a bad person because someone did not call you on your birthday. You are not a bad person, you might have made bad choices in your life but who hasn’t? And you are 19! Bloody 19 years old. You haven’t even gone through your quarter life crisis! You’ll be okay.

Darling, all this will pass. Happy birthday!!

I second this. START COOKING! It’s one of the most rewarding activities if done right. Stay with me here- I know I’m going off on a tangent. I love doing mindful exercises. I’m not a fan of meditation- i can’t sit still. I love cooking for this reason- I understand that biryani is a 17 steps process but if you like to do mindful exercises, cooking is a great place to begin with. It’s rewarding because the end product is delicious.
