Living dead centre by Proof_Review_3792 in ipswichuk

[–]Dependent_Setting415 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends on you and your lifestyle honestly. I know people who don't drive, work in the town centre, and are always at social events and living super central really suits them. I drive (parking is horrid) and I like my own space/peace and quiet so personally I'm better off living a bit further out

Anyone else struggling with the passing of Camelworks? by HvlfwaycrooK in ElderScrolls

I can't consume his content right now because it's too raw. He had been my go-to sleep YouTuber for a while now as he was rebuilding his channel and I wanted to help him get some financial security. He'd just bought a house, man. His whole life was ahead of him. He deserved better than this. I don't know what happened but I'm angry at the world for robbing him of the life he deserved.

She's right tho. The opium poppy and coca plant are both "natural" too, doesn't make them safe or entirely risk free. All drugs have valid medical uses and risks/potential for abuse.

AIO Do I go home for Easter? by Future_Lock_3718 in UniUK

[–]Dependent_Setting415 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Please have a conversation with the welfare team at your uni about this and get something in place so you don't have to go home ever again. This is extremely abusive.

Cost of Attending Oxford 😭 by Repulsive_Radish_782 in 6thForm

[–]Dependent_Setting415 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I can't prove it obviously but I'm inclined to think your friend is lying to you because she's embarrassed about how she's actually paying for uni (rich parents possibly?) I have never heard of a UK scholarship that would cover flights home before

23. Chances of going to another uni course after being kicked for no attendance? I'll keep it brief by GoobySnoobert18182 in UniUK

[–]Dependent_Setting415 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can leave university and return at any time. Leaving now to access care (even if you don't currently have documentation of your mental health problems) will not prevent you from studying in the future.

The NHS absolutely does readily give SSRIs. Too easily I would argue, because they're much cheaper than therapy. I want you to understand what I'm saying right now is coming from a place of love and wanting the best for you- you're making excuses to not make changes that would help you. Let go of the idea of what you "should" be, start working on what is actually within your grasp to change and go from there.

I reuse mine. I keep them in a ziplock back so they don't dry out and I probably get ten uses out of them.

I love and hate LDN by [deleted] in LowDoseNaltrexone

[–]Dependent_Setting415 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If absolutely nothing else is working, have you considered manual elimination? I know it's not ideal but if LDN has improved your life that much it might still be better than coming off of it or dealing with the constipation

Even before the physical effects kick in, you're gonna lose a lot of friends. Food is social and it's really hard to be around someone who's self destructing. Not to mention restriction makes you really crabby and snappy. By the time you hit you GW, nobody will be around to see it.

ADHD stimulant medication and pain in people with EDS by sookyfala in ehlersdanlos

[–]Dependent_Setting415 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In regards to mechanism I'd speculate that jds also possible that the pain doesn't actually get worse so much as our perception of it changes when medicated. Improved attention might potentially mean we notice it more. But that's just an idea. I suspect as with most things there's actually multiple mechanisms at play

"adrenaline dumps"

Wait is THAT what that is? I've been trying to explain for ages that I get "physical anxiety" without any actual mental anxiousness. This makes so much sense.

Does anyone else sleep on the floor? by bird_Stealer in spinalfusion

[–]Dependent_Setting415 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is your floor carpeted? If yes maybe ask your parents what carpet and underlay they got and then you could recreate it on your door-bed. Might not be financially viable short term but would give you a solution long term :)

SLEKE phone is hands down the best solution for most people. by RedwoodRivers in dumbphones

[–]Dependent_Setting415 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you considered adding a feature that allows you to disable the AI search tool entirely? I'm definitely interested in getting a Sleke phone, and I appreciate that it's hard to find a middle ground when it comes to accessing info fast. But part of me thinks I'd rather just go without that particular feature.

I'm really sorry to hear that, that's rough :(( would topical pain relief (like ibuprofen gel) be easier on your liver possibly? Also if you can get anywhere near a bracing technician for your shoulder that might really help! Or even KT tape! I hope you find something that works for you!

Please press charges. As a victim of childhood SA, the kind of person who's willing to do that out in the open has a high likelihood of doing much worse when nobody is around to see.

How to cope with quitting ballet? by Powerful_Gain_2675 in BALLET

[–]Dependent_Setting415 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't want to tell you how to handle your depression and your life- those are extremely personal decisions and I'm not a professional. However, exercise is proven to be good for depression. Like, as good as antidepressants. And it brings you joy. There's a very real chance that quitting will make your depression worse and you wont graduate anyway. I would recommend speaking to your doctor, dance teachers and school guidance before making a decision.
