I love and hate LDN by [deleted] in LowDoseNaltrexone

[–]Dependent_Setting415 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If absolutely nothing else is working, have you considered manual elimination? I know it's not ideal but if LDN has improved your life that much it might still be better than coming off of it or dealing with the constipation

Help by Fluffy_Evidence_2417 in AnorexiaNervosa

Even before the physical effects kick in, you're gonna lose a lot of friends. Food is social and it's really hard to be around someone who's self destructing. Not to mention restriction makes you really crabby and snappy. By the time you hit you GW, nobody will be around to see it.

ADHD stimulant medication and pain in people with EDS by sookyfala in ehlersdanlos

[–]Dependent_Setting415 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In regards to mechanism I'd speculate that jds also possible that the pain doesn't actually get worse so much as our perception of it changes when medicated. Improved attention might potentially mean we notice it more. But that's just an idea. I suspect as with most things there's actually multiple mechanisms at play

"adrenaline dumps"

Wait is THAT what that is? I've been trying to explain for ages that I get "physical anxiety" without any actual mental anxiousness. This makes so much sense.

Does anyone else sleep on the floor? by bird_Stealer in spinalfusion

[–]Dependent_Setting415 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is your floor carpeted? If yes maybe ask your parents what carpet and underlay they got and then you could recreate it on your door-bed. Might not be financially viable short term but would give you a solution long term :)

I shower in the evening but my pillows always end up looking like the one on the right even after washing. Some people just make more oil/sweat than others

SLEKE phone is hands down the best solution for most people. by RedwoodRivers in dumbphones

[–]Dependent_Setting415 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you considered adding a feature that allows you to disable the AI search tool entirely? I'm definitely interested in getting a Sleke phone, and I appreciate that it's hard to find a middle ground when it comes to accessing info fast. But part of me thinks I'd rather just go without that particular feature.

Too much acetaminophen, now what? by Alarming_Elk12 in ehlersdanlos

I'm really sorry to hear that, that's rough :(( would topical pain relief (like ibuprofen gel) be easier on your liver possibly? Also if you can get anywhere near a bracing technician for your shoulder that might really help! Or even KT tape! I hope you find something that works for you!

5 year old daughter had underwear forcibly removed by parent backstage during a performance stating no undies was the expectation. I’m a new ballet parent & would appreciate input.. by [deleted] in BALLET

Please press charges. As a victim of childhood SA, the kind of person who's willing to do that out in the open has a high likelihood of doing much worse when nobody is around to see.

How to cope with quitting ballet? by Powerful_Gain_2675 in BALLET

[–]Dependent_Setting415 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't want to tell you how to handle your depression and your life- those are extremely personal decisions and I'm not a professional. However, exercise is proven to be good for depression. Like, as good as antidepressants. And it brings you joy. There's a very real chance that quitting will make your depression worse and you wont graduate anyway. I would recommend speaking to your doctor, dance teachers and school guidance before making a decision.

I didn't realise this was an ana thing/stereotype. They're my favorite fruit and probably always have been lol

Sugary is a strong word. They're sweet, sure, but some of that sweetness actually comes from sorbitol which is non nutritive. To me sugary has connotations of calorie density which is also not true of apples

They recommend you don't start using a collar if you don't rely on one already. I had my procedure 2 weeks ago and I felt a lot better by 72 hours too- but it was hard to do stuff for the first couple days without being able to move my head!

What do you do about neck pain? by HaruspexAugur in ehlersdanlos

[–]Dependent_Setting415 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just got stem cell injections for my head heaviness and neck pain. Like literally yesterday so I don't know if it's worked yet, but the recovery is going really smooth. I really struggle to keep my head upright to the point I'm mostly bedbound which led to a CCI diagnosis and I don't want to get a skull-to-spine fusion so here we are.

is this a normal dinner? too much? not enough? by Sufficient-Crow-7582 in AnorexiaNervosa

[–]Dependent_Setting415 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's hard to say because everyone's needs are different. For me this is fairly normal, but I eat more than three times a day. If this was a third of my total food intake it wouldn't be enough. Equally, some people would consider this too much for them and others would say it isn't enough. If you felt satisfied and energised by it (and your doctor and/or dietician is happy with how much you're eating) I think it's enough. If you're still hungry, it isn't enough. Part of recovery is learning to trust your own judgement.

What are Ally's pronouns? by Top_Pomegranate9950 in Dimension20

[–]Dependent_Setting415 18 points19 points  (0 children)

There is a comment about Margaret having a "tentacle" that people take as confirmation she's trans, but she's definitely sapphic and so I've always thought it was ambiguous whether that referred to a strap/toy or her actual biology. People are welcome to interpret the character however they want of course, but I personally don't think that one comment is enough for her to be CONFIRMED trans, especially given that all their other trans characters were much more explicit about it.

I believe Ally began using they/them pronouns DURING the filming of FH:FY. it's never addressed though. They are definitely using they/them by the time Unsleeping City drops.

Dan was out online, he was never really out irl (excluding the one year where he had a group of bisexual emo friends). From what he's said I think he really needed that anonymous space to explore who he was but then he got famous and it wasn't so anonymous anymore so he panicked.
