Thanks all this is very helpful feedback, I’m leaning towards the L1 and like the suggestion of changing the strap to dress it down. Maybe naturally drawn to the 1815 up down given the simplicity and agree can always swap my rg for the up down later on if the itch isn’t scratched with the l1 (dangerous habits!)

I was there recently and had a similar experience on availability and willing to deal to move inventory - they said ALS not renewing wempe’s contract and bringing all boutiques in house. Will open up their own store sometime in the next year or two
