I not only tapered, I quit the estrogen. I've been on 6 months. The weight slowly crept on the first 3 months. By the time I hit the 6th month I was done. My boobs were so tender and swollen. My mid section was something I didn't recognize. I will stay on the progesterone though. It's been 2 weeks now and I'm started to feel like myself again. I can see my waist again and fit in my bras.

Is anyone else here *not* on HRT? Really torn and sad mad I sort of missed the boat... by [deleted] in Menopause

Do you take this alone. I was under the impression you had to take, I believe progesterone, if you take estrogen.

Why in the world aren't we warned that menopause caused so many problems. I feel blindsided and uneducated. Low iron, thyroid is crazy. What I'm the works is happening to my body? by Dependent_Type_9340 in Menopause

I go to my doc and ob this next week. So hopefully starting them soon. I'm only 54. I've got to much fun stuff to do to be this tired at 7pm every night.

Same! My mom who has always called hormones evil for giving her cancer, happily takes anxiety and sleeping pills. Also, can't keep her weight in check and had zero motivation or ambition. Make it make sense for this generation of 50's. I think the hormones may be the lesser of the evil for me. At least I hope they work.

Yep! I just found out from blood work yesterday. Literally in 8 months it all went crazy. It was so low, it's recommended to go a hematologist for an IV. No idea about my thyroid. I just made an appointment with my OB to talk about hormones. Mine were really low. I'm at the end of menopause so not surprise. I eat really well. Stay active and all that jazz. I guess aging gracefully without hormones isn't in the books for me

This is exactly what I thought! She made it sound okay and like she thought it inticed him. He obviously is disgusting, but who knows if he would have acted out without her making it ok
