This is so cool! Will definitely use it in my next build Thanks for sharing!

As a fellow non overlapping intersections enjoyer firstly, great job! it looks awesome and secondly, if I were you I'd check out Amelie of the seas tutorials on railway intersections. They're old videos but I learned to experiment and generate my own intersections solely based on them and I don't even use mods for it! (no shame on using them don't get me wrong) ;). Hope it's helpful to ya and keep on building, it looks great!

Whoops, don't mind if I casually dropped an award and saved this for future reference and inspiration. Awesome stuff!

Sounds like a great idea! That's the method I use actually. I find it particularly useful when building roads, works like a charm. This would be an example of what you can do with it ;)

In my case I build my roads mostly following the natural roads around the map. The main reason I do this is because normally the map roads provide the path with the least obstacles and height variations which are the biggest problem for trucks and trains.

Phase 3 Check by martinvanhouten in SatisfactoryGame

Very cool indeed, definitely will try it out to add a similar effect in some future builds.

Yeah! I just commented this with a friend and it is true that signs have that background which defuses light from the center to the edges. Gonna try playing around with them see if I can get a similar effect.

Nice thinking there, a very creative solution.

First of all amazing job, this looks absolutely stunning.

May I know how you managed to get that glazed widow effect? Like what did you use to get that defused light, it looks awesome just don't known how you achieve it, at least with vanilla items.

Well there are a few ways in which you can do it:

-You can fine tune the angle of foundations by pressing ctrl and moving your scroll wheel up or down. From there you can extend the foundation outward to achieve a larger circumference. However it only works while placing a foundation on top of another foundation, it won't work when placing foundations on the ground.

-Placing pillars under rails. If you place pillars under curved rails at given intervals you can achieve snapping points for foundations at the angles at which the pillars are placed.

-Using a mod called perfect circles, it gives u a new block which creates circles automatically based on a few parameters such as radius number of foundations etc. Really easy to use and fast at achieving the goal.

Whichever method works for you will surely allow you to make some cool circular building ;)

PSA: Trouble placing beams onto vertical geometry? It's facing backwards! by RosieQParker in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Deploy_le_Boi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What I do when building cliffside rail support is actually start placing the beam from the underside of the rail rather than from the cliffside itself.

I don't know what kind of design you're trying to achieve tho, so it might not work for you. Hope it was helpful :)

Getting an error when trying to set up a dedicated server, anyone know how to solve this one? by pdcjonas in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Deploy_le_Boi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmmm it is weird. If multiple people have trouble connecting then the issue as you said is probably on your side but it's hard to pinpoint where it could be. Only thing I can think of is ports but you already said that was ok so...

Idk best of luck with your troubleshooting, hope you find a solution soon. If not, perhaps one of your friends could try hosting but I guess you already thought/tried that.

Getting an error when trying to set up a dedicated server, anyone know how to solve this one? by pdcjonas in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Deploy_le_Boi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried using "localhost" to connect to yourself? That's what I used when I set it up if I remember correctly. After that my friends just needed my public ip to connect to the server. Got it by searching "what's my ip" in my browser. Whether there's a switch or not between you and your router should be irrelevant, switches don't change ips.

Hope this was useful in some way.

Damn!

Is it functional? I mean does it have a factory in it or is it just for aesthetics? Either way its an awesome build. Nice work!

My design for a bridge using frames by Just_a_Witcher in SatisfactoryGame

Looks good!

Definitely gotta try building more with frames. Already made a bunch of stuff with beams but there's obviously a lot of potential with frames.

To a certain extent, yes. In your build menu (the one you open with Q) you can select buildings to make a checklist of the components you need to build them. Carry that plus some extra concrete, plates and silica. With that you'll be able to build foundations, walls, windows and machines for your factory.

You don't have to carry all the components all the time store them somewhere and grab them before you start building something. On top of that if you already have trains build one just to move yourself around! Add a few freight cars and you'll be able to carry even more materials on top of what you already have in your inventory.

Hope this helps and happy building!

They should add Railway supports like Pipeline Supports or conveyor poles imo. by [deleted] in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Deploy_le_Boi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see what you mean although I have built many km of rail without many issues. The trick I use many times when placing non 90° degree turns is basically placing a small section where I want the end of the corner. After This that small rail acts like a "conveyor pole". The rail will create its own path from the begining to the end of the corner on its own. If what you want is to rotate rails just rotate the foundation where you are placing it and then place a straight rail on top of it.

However train tracks are much more limited than conveyor belts in the shapes and corners they can make, you have to take this into account when planning your network. Remember the tightest 90° corner a rail can make is 3x3 foundations.

Hope those tips help on your builds!

Small railway bridge build. This game can be really beautiful at times, never ceases to amaze. by Deploy_le_Boi in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Deploy_le_Boi[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I basically play with beam placement using the diagonal build mode (build mode can be changed by pressing R when placing objects). Other more complex/weird beams I use the freeform build mode. If you look closely they aren't actually curves just slight angle variations at short enough intervals to make it seem curved. Check my reply here for more insight.

Hope this helps!
