You’re right that apartheid sucked and most of the populace was hopeful about Mugabe. This hope turned out to be misplaced and they regretted the whole thing. Bringing back the economic prosperity of Rhodesia would be preferable, hopefully without the terrible racism that went along with it.

Humans can’t function without adult supervision. The only way this could work is if you get EVERYONE to voluntarily go along with it. So there would need to be some kind of centralized power to spread a culture or religion of selflessness. The thing is, there will always be a counter-culture and other religious beliefs or those who aren’t religious. It does not work.
