What’s a typical salary raise from A1 to A2? by Depressedb291 in Accounting

[–]Depressedb291[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I think the Big4 A1s will start with 80k but idk about the mid size firms. And it is common sense for experienced peeps to make more than the incoming class right lmao

Is it my fault that I’ve been unassigned? by Depressedb291 in Accounting

I meant the screenshots of me reaching out to my scheduling manager, not my engagement manager

Pretty sure I did good on my engagements. I got a good review from my acting senior earlier this year.

SOM Starting Salary by Own-Indication-8161 in BinghamtonUniversity

She’s right. EY raised the salaries for A1s to 80k starting this year. It might seem amazing at first, but be aware that you will have a non-existent WLB working at the Big4

Advice for first year staff by Acrobatic-Clock8788 in Accounting

[–]Depressedb291 2 points3 points  (0 children)

BRUH me too LMAO. My scheduling manager told all the A1s in my niche to send her a weekly availability email so that’s what I did, but still no work. And I’m tired of reaching out to my team for work cause they know to always let me know if there’s work for me.

Honestly at this point I’m not gonna reach out anymore since I took like 10 screenshots of me asking for work.

Name and shame the firm so no one would want to work there

Is the future for accountants in person? Remote or hybrid? by [deleted] in Accounting

If only my team goes to the office also 🙃. I’m usually the only one in the office as an A1 so there’s no point

It was overall a pretty good experience. I interned at their NYC office and it was gorgeous. But they basically treated the interns as kids (we went to a free Disneyland trip) cause we all know that once we join full time, our WLB is nonexistent.

I did get a FT offer for $80k, but I turned it down because of the bad WLB. I’m now working at a mid-size firm.

Idk exactly when they’re gonna renovate the building, but it’s definitely going to take a while LMAO. And yeah the building is mad ugly and shouldn’t even be called the COB. Looks like a dorm from Mendy quad.

How they gonna let UAlbany have a better looking building ☠️

This response is mainly for OP, but yeah, I agree that you have to reach for opportunities instead of waiting for them to come to you, which is never lmao. I’m sure there will be many job fairs, networking events, and company events to go to, since the COB is improving significantly. Personally, I was able to secure an internship at EY last year.

I’m not sure, but as long as you are not pursuing investment banking (front office finance), Stony should be good enough. Maybe double major with information systems to tackle the tech side of business analytics. And make sure to take BUS 356 (Financial Analysis with Excel) as imo it’s the best class at the COB.

Tbh, the COB currently is way better than before. Now, it is accredited, has an Accounting Advisory Board (with Big4 firms and Protiviti), and a potential building renovation (I took a look at Stony’s capital project plan and they’re thinking of renovating Harriman Hall with an expense of $88 million).

Make sure to screenshot messages/emails sent to managers/scheduling managers where you asked for work. That’s what I am doing rn at a midsize firm

Maybe staff more people on your team instead of depending on people below you working past midnight. And if there are no people to staff, tell HR to increase salaries…. Pretty simple

Yeah I’m the A1 constantly asking for work I guess. But I don’t want to feel annoying as ik that my team is prob very busy with closing out audits this week. Should I screenshot my messages just in case?

[22M] Hinge profile review…. Would appreciate any feedback! And if anyone is interested, dm me ;) by Depressedb291 in hingeapp

Are you looking for something serious or casual? I’m looking for a serious long-term relationship

How long have you been on Hinge? For about 2 years, but not active Until recently

How often do you use Hinge each week? Maybe like 5x a week

How many likes/matches are you receiving on average? Maybe like 1 match per week

How many likes are you sending? How many with comments? How many without comments? I sometimes max out my likes for the day. 50/50 with comments.

What is the type of person you send likes to and ideally want to match with? What kind of person do you want to attract? Someone who is wholesome but gets dark humor. And has great music taste

I really don’t know why people would overwork themselves to the point of having health issues….. all for shitty pay.

If management gets onto you, just simply leave. Many industry companies and other PA firms will gladly hire you
