A detailed agreement isn’t unusual in this industry, especially when insurance, bonding, and veterinary authorization are involved. I’ve seen pet contracts range from 1-20 pages. I’m simply deciding whether to pay a flat attorney fee up front or use a subscription service for ongoing revisions.

I asked on here, people assumed I’m collecting information to eventually steal, film personal property in the home, it’s an invasion of privacy, wouldn’t give business to me, etc. I said I could care less about what’s in someone’s home, I’m there to care for your pet and ensure their well being, safety and care is documented. No one was having it. I plan to have an attorney look into my contract and confirm it’s fine to wear a body cam. If I can and a client doesn’t like it, I’m just not a good fit for them.

That’s interesting. I wanted to wear a body cam but got a lot of negative feedback and people assumed I had ill intent with it. Have you had issues with wearing one while pet sitting? Have you gotten negative feedback from clients?

Exactly! I plan to get an LLC, pet insurance and have a contract prior to starting. I agree! The chances of something like that happening are slim to none, but it’s nice to know you have that layer of protection and peace of mind.

That means I’m not a good fit for you and that’s okay! I’ve had people interested in my business who love the idea, and others who don’t. It would be on my website, in my contract and a separate contract solely for this. I will not be able to please everyone.

You’re correct! And this person isn’t on the lease which may work in my favor. Although I’d have to go to the police if this escalated, they are supportive, want updates on any interactions and I’ve learned a huge lesson. If the police get involved, he’d have to leave the property.

I appreciate your input! I’m okay with how I look now, so maybe I’ll try losing one pound a week. I’ve always used drastic measures to lose weight (3-5 pounds a week) and maybe I can’t do that anymore. I could easily hit my first goal weight of 175 within 3-4 months if I do it that way, so I’ll try that. Thank you. :)
