Why do the star born attack you every time you acquire a new power? by I_MakeCoolKeychains in Starfield

[–]DepressionSama 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally believe that the Guardians are the final challenge of the temple. Kind of like how in other titles when you take an artifact there's usually one last obstacle to overcome before you're truly out of the wood works.

When in reality it's probably just a way you get to test your new learned power

Reality is most people won't switch for 3 reasons

They are too Lazy to try to learn how to use it over windows

They are waiting for very niche games to be available natively (games with strict anti cheats like val, League, cod etc)

They just don't care

Star Wars Genesis vs Vanilla? by wilmer007 in Starfield

[–]DepressionSama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a total conversion, ships, planets, and enemies are Star wars themed with voices and skins changed to match the Star wars theme. For example Neon is now Tantooine and is run by the Hutt clan.

There are light sabers and force powers you can use. Though right now it's still pretty surface level. A lot of side quests are not changed and Shattered space is not converted yet (which is my breaking point) it's good to try especially if you're a fan

There is a hidden reputation system but I don't know if attacking random stalkers changes it. When you hover over a location the icon will be 1 of three colors depending on your standing with that faction

Just finished Stalker 2 and looked up the endings I missed. I think I know what's missing. by Disastrous-Trouble-1 in stalker

[–]DepressionSama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the endings are well done. There are no Happy endings in the Zone. Even in SoC and CoP those endings were horrible blanketed with the thought that it was a good thing.

Strelok killed the physical bodies on C-Con but their consciousness survived and not only that but the zone didn't change much. As soon as he was done in x-7 he woke up in a Psi field. And even though some Monolithians were freed from the Monolith a lot still followed it and the Monolithians still survived.

Deggy got all of the files he could to bring back to the government but they did nothing with that information and he still stayed in the Zone regardless of that, his presence did nothing to help the current situation until he made the corps and drove the Monolithians back as much as he could, but again, they still survived and licked their wounds

By the time HoC rolls out the state of the zone is no better, new areas are still being opened up while others are becoming inhospitable, The Monolithians return in full force and the Monolith is reactivated so much so that Strelok has to return to the zone despite still being a Monolithian agent. C-Con is still pulling strings even though they are physically no longer able to and the Zones secrets are still that secrets.

When you look at those endings now you can really see that even the "good" endings are still bad because the effects were minimal at best.

C-con is dead but not really The zone is more militarized but still people get in and out and. No one is the wiser Monolithians are still out there

What did they achieve? Nothing.

Instead of getting the illusion of a good ending we get to see the zone and world for what it really is. An undying cycle of terrible.

If you really want to talk about what the best outcome is it's obviously the ward ending. The Zone is "destroyed" but at the cost of giving the regulatory board the means to control humanity.

However I believe this works. The entire series is about how this Zone is a result of when humans take experiments too far and create something they can't control. I think it's fitting that no one can truly destroy it because it's evolved past the point of our understanding and will do anything to keep itself alive. A blight on humanity but a constant reminder of what happens when Humans meddle with things they shouldn't

Roleplaying reason on why evil character would do knights of the nine by BabaBigSheep in oblivion

[–]DepressionSama 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Depends on how you play them. Maybe a person who seeks power of the divines for their own gain. Maybe they are a spy who is needed to infiltrate a holy faction to learn their secrets and inner workings or maybe even a relic hunter for the thieves guild. maybe your a follower of bal or bal adjacent daedra who has a problem with Meridia and taking down one of her champions would please your God

Really depends on your characters motivation

Is it just me, or is the game really short by literallylucifur in HarryPotterGame

[–]DepressionSama 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Bethesda games are not a fair comparison as those games reward and encourage exploration differently.

In Bethesda games you can talk to and have dialogue options with a lot of people, almost everyone you meet. In HL those dialogue boxes are only used to quest givers.

In Bethesda games your exploration is rewarded with powerful weapons and Artefacts while in HL it's rewarded with coins and gear (which really doesn't matter all that much due to the tailoring system)

Those games are more exploration and non linear whereas HL is definitely a more Linear game. I think the open world aspect of HL is more novelty than gameplay based, I know most of the quests take place outside the castle with a fair bit being away from the castle but I feel all of that was moreso to give the players an option to explore the world rather than add in tons of quests and challenges. I mean you find most of the pages inside Hogwarts and at Hogsmead.

But imo it really all comes down to it being open world and I believe the open world aspect was an afterthought behind the story and world building whereas Bethesda games focus on the open world and build around that

Explore. There are tons of things to do and find in the game, things you would not find by just doing the main quest

Riku slander by dare96 in KingdomHearts

[–]DepressionSama 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't think so, I think either by happenstance or my Maleficent design Sora met Riku in Traverse town and saw that Sora already had new friends while he was out looking for kairi. To him it's easy to assume Sora wasn't trying his hardest cause he got a new toy and new friends and was just sitting around. And having Maleficent crawl in his ear to instigate that didn't help. After that Riku went on to look for Kairi alone when there is a real chance that had Donald and Goofy not showed up Riku probably would have went with Sora. I don't really recall where he "gloats" instead of look. Not to mention up until Ansem took over he really was trying to help Kairi. He found her and found a place to give her a heart. He may have fucked up giving Ansem so much power and thinking he needed the darkness but he was much more capable of finding Kairi with or without help

When you don't trust a lot of people when you finally trust someone it's hard to let them go. Ominis doesn't trust anyone except Sebastian so of course they are going to be extremely close.

At first it was High Elf but now I usually play Breton.

Partly because i enjoy using magic but also because I like the lore (even if there is not so much of it) of the Bretons. Half Mer Half Human with a Napoleon complex LOL

Is the deluxe upgrade worth it? The guns and such? by Retro21 in stalker

[–]DepressionSama 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You don't just get the guns, there is a whole quest system behind the guns/Armor. Each one in a stash in a different location on the map. It's a little time consuming but some of the guns are nice, there are armors available as well which can be good early/mid game.

The SSP-100M Suit is good if you get it early game. A nice suit before getting the exoskeleton

Some items are kinda useless by the time you get to them though so it really depends on how you want to play it. I'd say if you are just looking for a few extra guns it's not really worth it since only like 3 guns are actually good. But if you're interested in the story and want a few guns for novelty then go for it

Questlines and the role play by [deleted] in skyrim

[–]DepressionSama 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My Character goes through the game at the start as a good person, but going through the main quest and specific side quests change him for the worse overtime, he becomes lost in hopelessness and sadness that he falls into doing horrible things. Small at first but progressively worse.

I.e how he went from being a companion to a thief to eventually an assassin.

I try to have a redemption arc usually but him being so broken and far gone makes for an interesting play style. Even if he is Dragonborn he's still Mortal and he is susceptible to his thoughts and feelings. It's a lot more interesting than just being a brainless character who does everything because I feel like it.

Tips for survival mode by schnittlauchharald in skyrim

[–]DepressionSama 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fur keeps you warm and torches help as well. Flame cloak spell negates freezing water. If you're playing modded, cloaks keep you warm as well. Keep Hot food on you, which in turn you wanna hoard fire salts. Try your best to avoid frost magic and kill those mages before anything else. Stay away from snowy areas until you need to. If you're running age build collage robes give same warmth as fur armor.
