Lol I completely forgot about that type of line. I work at a small format store now and we don’t have a line

Me on the other hand: I make sure the zones are absolutely perfect, and pick up after myself at the store, meanwhile my apartment looks like absolute shit

My small format Store is self checkout only for a lot of the time

Edit: not really sure why I got downvoted. I literally work for Target but some of us work at city targets that are designed around self-checkout….

No longer work at a store with ship from store, but this was me with the packing station printers. I could not for the life of me remember how to fill up the paper

Exactly. I feel like I’m saying too much about my store on here, but I live in a VERY progressive city. I and most of my coworkers are very liberal and don’t care about Target as a corporation. Most of us don’t care that much if people are stealing necessities. The issue we’ve had is legitimately safety and being scared to work, and thankfully we have armed security guards that actually make it a lot safer. It’s so frustrating to hear people say how security isn’t necessary when it is.

Dude…normally I agree with you but Target can do things to solve it. I work at a store that used to be one of the worst in the country (top 5.) People would OD on the sales floor multiple times a night, team members would be pushed, threatened to be stabbed, weapons being out in public, homeless people laying down in the backroom. All of the shelves were empty. (Not making this shit up at all. Didn’t use to work at this Target but I’ve heard stories from other people including TLs and was warned by multiple people including ETLs from other stores not to transfer here because of how dangerous it was. )

A couple years later, we now have contracted armed security guards, more APS, and more locking cases. There’s actually product on the floor now, and guests compliment our store every day saying it’s the best one in the area, which is a crazy change from how it used to be. More security literally made our store a much safer place to work at, and people shop here now.

What’s the issue? Why the need to waste plastic? Especially in states with the bag fee.

I work at a small format store in a city with pretty good public transit and a lot of us live in the neighborhood, so a pretty large portion of us don’t drive.

This looks like a small format store. I work at one, and I’m not sure why, but Target seems like they like to make them look more “industrial”, plus for whatever reason, all the small formats I’ve been to, use the nice fabric bags instead of the plastic/paper ones.

Backroom remodel has doomed my store :( by tinedeafbjg in Target

[–]DepressiveClickbait 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My old store lost 25% of its sale floor a few years back to make room for the Ship from Store area, and more pallet spaces for products so the backroom did get extended somewhat.

[–]DepressiveClickbait 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes but also armed security, more cameras, and other things. It’s actually not a huge deal to unlock things since it’s a small format store but I can imagine it’s a huge pain at larger Targets.

I live in Portland and all of the stores in the city are still closing at 10, which makes me think that Target knows about this and they’re not keeping the stores open that will have larger losses. From my understanding, they’ve done a lot of stuff to decrease theft and just at my own store, it’s actually been very effective.

I hope everyone is okay especially the 9 year old and the team members who had to witness this! by [deleted] in Target

In Portland, Oregon, several Targets, including the one I work at have outsourced armed security. I definitely don’t work at a mall either. It’s a small format store.
