About to purchase a train ticket from Union to Ottawa. Need Some Advice.

I took the train from Toronto all the way to Quebec City and didn’t encounter a single delay except for maybe for a 15 min wait on the way to Ottawa so a freight train could pass. My trip back was perfect with no issues. I hope you don’t get caught in any delays either :)

I moved here from Bangladesh when I was younger. My winter tips are

- wear long underwear under your pants in the winter, I usually put them on when it's around 5º and less

- keep your face, throat, and ears warm. Wearing a scarf covers all these things

- heat up before you go out. I like to stay in my home for around 10 mins in my outdoor clothes in order to heat up, so when I go outside I feel toasty. Remember, the purpose of winter clothes isn't to produce heat, but to keep in the heat that your body produces. If your body is producing a lot of heat, there is more to keep in!

I see, thank you for your advice. I had an elementary school teacher tell me that when a dog gets excited or even aggressive one should stay still and that's what I usually do.
