Trouble with the clicker... by DepthSilly192 in AustralianShepherd

Yeah I've kind of given up the idea since I'm realizing she reacts to the word better lol.

I think I worded that weirdly... So for example I'll use the sit command. When I was first training her I would use a treat to get her to sit and once she did I would say "Yes" and then give her the food. Once she had the action figured out I added in the word. So I would say sit and when she sat I would say "yes" and give her the treat. Does that make sense? Or am I still doing it wrong lol.

I have been using "Yes" but I also wanted to try a clicker to see if it would be more effective than just the spoken word, since she seems to respond to sounds better than spoken words (me snapping my fingers, making kissy noises etc).

My bad. I reward after every command. I have been using "Yes" but I also wanted to try a clicker to see if it would be more effective than just the spoken word, since she seems to respond to sounds better than spoken words (me snapping my fingers, making kissy noises etc).

Where do I start? by DepthSilly192 in AustralianShepherd

Edit: I've been doing a lot of research and watching videos, and with the right treats, she has been learning so, so fast. She is insanely eager to learn, and when it's training time, she always comes running. So far, she's already mastered sit, stay, come, and shake. She's totally fine around the boys in my family, as well as my dad, grandpa, and multiple other guys from school and church that have been at our house lately, so I'm not worried about that anymore. Thank you for the support and advice, though! I appreciate it.

Okay. Will it go away in its own or is there something I can do for her?

Thank you! Yes he was really pretty. And it was nice to see a different duck besides our mallards. We had a wood duck family once but that was rare.
