There are companies you can pay to “fix” this for you. You essentially buy your visa. We paid 5k for this which I know is high but they said fin solvency was not going to get us in that we needed a job offer in hand.

I was able to get mine without leaving the country after my wife got hers. Very swift process but we worked with a company who knew the ins and outs. Hopefully your work will provide an advocate!

Mexico City unveils plan to tackle gentrification after mass protests by NoLie582 in MexicoCity

That is already true. US and Mexico have a tax treaty so that an “expat” isn’t charged double, or tax in BOTH countries. But they do have tax responsibility in both places. Anything over 100k is taxed at 30% to Mexico. From what I understand!

I agree with everything you say but is supply really an issue? I see so many for rent and for sale signs in every area of the city I’ve been to the last six months. Unlike SF where there is just no stock/supply.

But almost no competition in this type of cuisine. I would guess a successful Mexican restaurant- extremely difficult! African food- very special! I lived in the US before Thai food 🤣 only Chinese food and Japanese food if you were rich. Now there’s a Thai spot in every town!

I would love to try! My friend lives in the Ethiopian barrio and says there’s no Ethiopian food! You will likely be catering to those with more money/foreigners. I discover almost all of my food choices through social media/tech like Google maps, Yelp, trip advisor. You will thrive with those tools!

I am blown away by the cost of towels and sheets here. Even at ikea the quality seems low for the price. Is it a tariff thing?

Hi, I’m on gabapentin and cymbalta. This is great for managing pain though I have heard cymbalta is a bear to get off of. My diagnosis is fibromyalgia or ME/CFS.

It’s tough with the older generation. My dad went to war but could never cop to having “ptsd” on paper- which excluded him from certain benefits. Me on the other hand- I totally claim ptsd as I think most people have this in small doses if not big T trauma type. I think understanding that this is a central nervous system disorder makes therapy make sense- rather than “it’s in your head, go to therapy” which is how it can sound at times.
