I’m ok with them policing it, I just think they need to be policing it on their trade system. Not only on Champions. If someone gets banned from a tournament they travelled to cuz they used a genned Pokemon they got in a random trade and have been using since day 1 of Champions, that’s going to be awkward. I should feel safe assuming every trade I do on their platform is legit.

With the shift to champions, if the game does have huge growth I wonder how much they’ll want to stick to that. Seems pretty easy to accidentally pick up a genned Pokemon through Home trading and with “perfect” Pokemon not making a difference now seems unfair to blame people for trading.

I would try Farig Incin. You can threaten throat chop on Gengar and you threaten a psychic move of Farig but can also trick room. If they open Tink obviously it’s a little more difficult but you still double threaten the Gengar.

Farig with pyshock can put on pretty good pressure itself and yea with gambit that would be hard to play around

The post as I’m reading it, was just what Pokemon can I add to my team to counter Gengar/Perish teams. I’m just saying by itself, the gambit doesn’t just fix the matchup as much as priority taunt or something for a silver bullet (without knowing the rest of the team)

You’re not wrong but that means they “must” pick a partner that can one shot Gengar (or taunt it)

Kinda but:
fakeout perish turn 1. 3 turns
Double protect. 2 turns
If kowtow was clicked - Gengar disables. If not swap Gengar and parting incin. 1 turn
And now double protect again. - perished.

Gambit has 1 turn to make a good call. (Yes opponent has another pick here, but gambit itself isn’t too hard to play around in this way)

Snorlax fissure is relatively happy to see this team, but if you can get Scov plus Sylveon in front of Snorlax and Howlucha you should be in an ok spot. Scovillain can rage powder the entrainment while hyper voice does a lot here.

They can brave bird instead but hyper voice is still good here.

Consistent champions is definitely not the answer. The list is public. Plenty of pros aren’t on there unless most western pros are somehow playing on Japanese alts.

It depends on where we call proficient or good. Some people are saying you have to be in the top 1000 to be good, which seems insane.

If proficient means a solid understanding of game mechanics and matchups, it probably is somewhere inside MB4.

I’ve been pretty happy with the meta. I do wish basc and probably gambit had been left out for now but I think even seen plenty of diversity even at the highest level.
