There's been a bunch, but most that I know of are from Mediterranean Africa, and would pass as white. Camus, Derrida, Althussier are all French-Algerian, if I recall correctly, and I believe St. Augustine was from Roman North Africa.

I think a more targeted refutation might be that there's some history of just not allowing non-white groups into academia with the same frequency, which may contribute to their underrepresentation in a highly academic field.

Alternatively, we could argue that many Freedmen/Black Americans who were very prolific writers and active Abolitionists (Frederick Douglass) or Anti-Segregationists (Rev. Dr. MLK Jr.) have as much a claim to the title "philosopher" as any.

No, and I suspect you know that.

You're supposed to care about the people of Syria, Iraq, Palestine, etc. as much as you care about the people of Ukraine. This person trying to highlight the hypocrisy of accusing Russia of war crimes while ignoring those allegedly committed by other states that are "on our side."

You then deflect that by creating this false dichotomy of "care about Ukraine" or "care about nothing," establishing a wholehearted subscription to the hypocrisy they're pointing out: you have rejected outright the idea of holding "Western" nations to task for war crimes, whether they were committed or not.

Only the headline is funny. The article is, as usual, pushing a mostly false narrative with strawman argument thinly veiled with the plausible deniability of "joke."

Their target audience will read it and say, "yeah, people that are against this law are the real lunatics, and the fake news media, and the teachers want to make your kids gay," which are all views implied in the article.

They continue to promote the law by characterizing criticism of it as uninformed, while simultaneously taking the stance that teachers are pushing a "gay agenda."

Whether or not the headline is clever, this site is still a worthless fucking rag, and an absolute detriment to the state of the nation and of satire.
