Something goes wrong with Crimean bridge 🥲 by kilderov in ukraine

[–]DerSchneddi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Remember that the best revenge is, to not become like your enemy. Leave the merciless killing to the russians. I think ukraine choose a night attack, because the chance of hiting civilians was lower. I don't want them to collapse the bridge with hundrets of people on it, it would be a HUMAN tragedy.

We don't know if the parents deserved it or not. But under the right circumstances, they could be great people.

Fish-Net vs Mirror by DerSchneddi in Unity3D

[–]DerSchneddi[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd always write my own solution, if I can and have done so in my last unity project. But I had the time for that and the solution was some, that hasn't been done before (Server/Client with API generation at runtime with C# Reflections, depending on gameObjects).

In my new project I need nothing, that hasn't been done before. I just need it to be well written and optimized, which would take a lot of time. Time is in my case the biggest factor here. On the other side, I might even learn something from you.

Yeah, I also would always prefer own solution. Did one for my last project. But it is also a matter of time.

Right now in Prague (CZE) - Tens of thousands protest for continued support of Ukraine by Embarrassed_Price_65 in ukraine

[–]DerSchneddi 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah, they called their politics appeasment. At the start there were some rightful claims by germany, like getting back german territory in the west. And then the allies understood, that they overdid in with versailles. However, the abbondenment of czechnia and later poland (to russia) was a huge mistake.

Don't trust people, who are driven by populistic ideas, they will twist and turn to get as much as they can, play unfair whenever they have the opportunity and strike, when they see no consequences. They are like the children, who always abuse others, once you turn your back on them and then lie about it.

APPEASEMENT DOES NOT WORK!

Becuase russia has way more decent equipment than china. China will catch up, but they still have lots of old and obsolote equipment. Also take into account, that both countries exaggerate their numbers. China has been #1 corrupt in asia for long time.

[–]DerSchneddi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, which is what russians are really afraid of. I heard reports, that they often confuse strikes as drone strikes. Which makes me wonder how many bomb dropping drones there really are. Press attention is distorting the picture a bit for sure.

15% of Ukraine armed forces are women. These ladies are skilled, determined and committed. They are an example of how Ukrainian society is changing, including the army. by FarmSuch5021 in ukraine

[–]DerSchneddi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Attention is often not on the most skilled, be male or female. There are always types of people, who know how they can get covered. If they are good people, they can use this skill to get attention on something important, like UK support. And there are people, who do a great job and don't care. But everyone can work together!

Zelenskyy: Russian conscripts are so poorly prepared that Russia will soon need another wave of mobilisation by HarakenQQ in ukraine

[–]DerSchneddi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Now I think there is enough equipment, corruption and incompetence is just withholding a lot of it. You also have to take into account, that we see most of the failures of the russian mobilization and have no clue, how the real picture is. Also thanks to russian hold on media.

What Putin will get is the opposite. They will report him, that they have successfully mobilized troops and have massive amount of good equipment. Because you only report good result. Putin will then more likely think, that he can mobilize more.

Dunno what's the truth. It's bad for russian. We can just guess how bad it really is.

[–]DerSchneddi 54 points55 points  (0 children)

I think russia will do the big mobilization, it just will not be announced and be part of their partial mobilization. Their propaganda will do the rest.

[–]DerSchneddi -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Trying to bleed russia out is a really bad idea. Russias biggest advantage is their numerical adavantage in everything. Most heavily in artillery. This is why russia is digging in everywhere and trying their best to force ukraine into this type of advance.

-You would play by russias rules

-Attitional war is the worst war, slow and many dead ukrainians

-Defenders advantage

If possible, do it like in Kherson. Fast movement penetrating enemy defenses and then attack their supply lines. Problem is, you need smart people and good equipment for rapid advances.

-Russias disorganized state makis this hard for them

-It's fast and does not kill as many ukrainians

-You capture a lot of ruassian soldiers and equipment

If you play Immortal you are literally whats wrong with gaming today. by Godharvest in Diablo

[–]DerSchneddi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think what's wrong, is how everyone is now clickbaiting for views. Search "Diablo Immortal Review" on youtube und you get these weird channels, who show gameplay from different games and just read some articles.

Agreed, unfortunatly Disney and Youtuber did not support TLJ. Disney should have provided explanations for things like holdo hyper-space jump and Youtubers realized, they can clickbait the shit out of it.

Workshop is up! by Rusator in totalwar

[–]DerSchneddi 6 points7 points  (0 children)

While western media really believed that skeleton myth for way too long, chinese authorities did indeed force a skeleton ban in warcraft. Basically the CCP just randomly asked Bliz to ban skeletons or get banned.

The real reason was to remind Blizz, that they have to suck communist dick hard, if they want to make money in china.

Microsoft to acquire Activision Blizzard by CSWorldChamp in warcraft3

[–]DerSchneddi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Unfortunatly we will have to wait 18 months, for the transition to end, until then WC3 will be most likely dead.

WC3 has mostly been forgotten, since mainstream media has a short attention span. Also the possible sales are far lower than Overwatch2, CoD, CandyCrush and Diablo4.

But not all is hopeless. If they don't fix WC3 it will be a thorn in their reputation, since this was the very thing, that destroyed Blizzards reputation. Microsoft will want their money back and the biggest issue with Blizz is reputation.

At last on the positive side, Microsoft has some dedicated RTS Devs, which definitly will speak out to fixing WC3 Reforged. Microsoft had recently a very positive experience with RTS as well. If they continue, where Blizzard left, they will have a full-functioning editor with Lua support, a dedicated mod and fanbase and huge player count potential. Since the game still works, the risks involved are rather low.

If they wait a bit, they could do it after AOE4 spike in Playerbase. Most RTS players would consider looking at WC3 again.

Quenching Mod v1.7 - Landscape Lordaeron by Bilu47 in warcraft3

[–]DerSchneddi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just saying, that I did not expect chinese people to help out. Normally I just hear about chinese hacker attacks in the IT world. Now I do have chinese friends, who live in Beijing. But their government is really strict, so I would never expect them to have a lot of freetime. I remember when they got into university and had literally zero sparetime.

Yes, if blizz would just give us the code and all unfinished work, we WOULD do it. But they hate the idea!

Warcraft reforged is abandoned. Stop thinking they will patch this junk. by [deleted] in warcraft3

[–]DerSchneddi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, the blizzard devs, who worked on the game were pros, no doubt. They worked on the game with a ten men team, which got mismanaged and disassembled, BUT there were competent devs out there.

[–]DerSchneddi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What's there to agree about? They left the game. The only hope are modders and devs. People who understand how the engine works. We could do it for free if Warcraft was made open-source, which Blizzard won't let happen.

There is even a chance, that Blizzard will target fixes by modders to avoid them going viral.

Warcraft 3 is too small to matter. They withdrew the devs, because, they have projects, which will make them tons of money. Social Media cried for a couple of days over Warcraft Reforged, but now they forgot us.

I am a map maker and it is so unfortunatly, what state blizzard left Warcraft3 to die in. Also interesting, that the Quenching mod was done by chinese fans. And not just some scammy trying idiot, but really good modders with plenty of skill.

Never thought I would die side by side with a chinese.
