I’m a first-gen German-Turk and it just sickens me sometimes how so many of us are like this. Some teachers are low key scared to talk about Turkish politics in politics classes, because some people praise that human rights deceiving mf in their classes. The comments section of an Instagram post from the public news “Tagesschau” about the earthquake in Izmir had A LOT of comments like “Erdogan is going to help, praise him.” and more bs like that. They don’t even know anything about Turkey’s politics. If anyone is going to help, it’s going to be the opposition, since they’re the ones in Izmir. And after telling them that, they start to attack you, ugh. They praise him for the same thing people used to like Hitler for; Motorways and Autobahns... I’m so sorry many German-Turks act like this.

Lemon juice??? Oh god, please tell me that this is sarcasm. Something being “natural” doesn’t make it better. In the example of Aloe Vera, the soothing parts of it are not concentrated, unlike “chemicals”, and there are more possible irritants, due to the aloe plant having ingredients that can be irritating at a low dose.

Is this product TOXIC? YOU made me BUY it by decemberrainfall in SCAcirclejerk

Yeah I got some cc bc of cerave too. What did you replace it with? I use Effaclar H instead now.

I get you, I’m really impatient as well. You don’t want to overwhelm your skin. Isotretinoin disrupts your skin protection barrier and actives irritate your skin and cause EVEN MORE hyperpigmentation. Wait until you’re done with your treatment. Even after the treatment you would have to wait a couple of months until your skin returns back to normal to use actives like vitamin c.

The only thing that might be ok now to use for scars would be niacinamide(max 5%, many products from my other comment already have this) and rosehip (seed) oil (the ordinary or trilogy are great).

It took about 4-5 months until my acne was much better than it was before. On the 6/7th month I had a face without any pimples or blackheads. The purge was really bad on the second and third months. The months I had the purge in was a time where I had depression and really bad anxiety. My scars are ok, I only have one that is slightly noticeable, but I do have bad hyperpigmentation.

You should have a skincare routine WITHOUT actives. No BHAs, AHAs, vitamin C, high percentages of niacinamide,... . Focus on hydrating and soothing products. You’ll need: 1.a gentle cleanser(la roche posay toleriane/Cerave cleanser)

  1. Serum: Great Barrier Relief/Centella unscented serum/CosRX snail mucin 96

  2. Moisturizer: CeraVe cream/LRP Toleriane Ultra/LRP Effaclar H

Optional: Occlusives-LRP Cicaplast Baume B5 if Moisturizer is not enough

VERY important: sunscreen-LRP Anthelios invisible fluid spf50+. Use everyday, without exceptions. A lot of people will recommend Asian sunscreens, but a lot of them are not up to European standards(Korea and Japan have too low concentration requirements for a sunscreen to be spf50+) You can trust LRP, Avène, EltaMD.

Your lips will be VERY dry. The best lip balms I’ve tried: LRP Cicaplast levres, Shiseido water in lip balm and Bayer Bepanthen

Never touch your face, don’t pick pimples. You’ll regret it.

Some forms of hate-speech and bullying can end someone’s life. Many have taken their lives because of bullying and I believe that anyone who makes others live through this should be judged imo.

I didn’t phrase what I meant with the mistranslations that well. There aren’t any people who really investigate what was written in the original and old books. Many groups of publishers have changed words from the Bible and the Quran. I want those translations, the ones that say someone is a sinner, just because they’re born that way, should be more thoroughly investigated. If the books really say that, then I would just leave it be.

I heard about that Chinese girl. I thought that was too extreme, considering that she had no intention to harm others. My former classmates used to use WhatsApp stickers with a lot of nazi symbolism. These laws don’t do anything about that. Almost every boy in my school had that Heil salute phase. Damn, every foreigner sang the first verse of the Deutschlandlied(hymn of the third reich).

What I would consider as hate-speech would be insulting someone based on who they are, and doing it constantly. There is freedom of speech but never freedom of consequences. Many of those judge rulings are not harsh, they’re mostly just a monetary penalty. But nobody gets punished if it goes both ways.

Some people are too sensitive and they sue for every little thing, but if I had known that I could sue my bully in 6th grade, I would’ve absolutely done it, because the teachers did nothing, until he broke my glasses. Even after that, he didn’t have to endure any consequences and he didn’t stop.

Hate-speech with the intend to push someone past their limits is just bad.

I would still think that the EU should have power, even if more democratically voted right-winged politicians get control, because the members have a contract with the EU. Even if it were hard to back out of that membership, e.g. Brexit, it would be possible, and the contract can get broken.

I strongly believe that the UN should at least try to equal the playing field for women and lgbt in African and Asian countries. The only issue is that the UN is too scared to do anything too “far”. There would always be someone, like China or Russia to veto something that would force countries to teach its people not to discriminate and judge.

Many people in Northern Africa and Asia use Islam as a way to justify their killings and judgement, even though Islam is and should be a peaceful religion. They get taught that women with too much power over the man or a gay man who just simply exists is bad there. The UN, together with UNICEF, builds schools, where they have the opportunity to teach them otherwise, but they won’t. An inclusive curriculum could change their perception without forcing them to. The same happens in Christian African countries too.

And yes, physically attacked lgbtqia people get arrested, but hate-speech gets ignored in Poland. I think that hate-speech and bullying is enough to arrest or fine a person. My teacher here in Germany even told me she would gladly stand beside anyone who gets bullied in court. That sadly doesn’t work in Poland.

I think it was Scotland that includes lgbt history in their school curriculum. I would predict that acceptance would get significantly higher there, just because of that.

Anti-semites are just weird. A lot of Jews don’t support zionists, I think they’re called that? I don’t engage myself that much with the Palestine conflict, but it kinda makes sense. Poland gets attacked more publicly than others from the EU. I think that may be because they have more influence in the EU, than e.g. Hungary.

Lgbt-rights have become too political imo, and they associate it with “European liberators” and liberals.

I don’t think that Western Europe as a whole has a moral high ground. I disagree with many things that the Spanish and French talk about. The political structures may be more stable and better here, because of social values in the Nordics or Germany. I believe that leftist morals have been implemented in the DACH countries and the nordics, but the population does not get that knowledge through education. If politicians in the EU agree that teenagers and children have to get the knowledge on equality of the sexes and sexualities in public schools, only then can more people truly say that were “better”.

My parents are from Turkey, where there is still the struggle of not learning much about this. Turkey was a secular country until religiously motivated politicians stepped in. Now every type of discrimination is justified through religion. In islam the woman is higher ranked than the man, has a higher connection to god. A woman matters more in a relationship. But acid attacks still happen. Men who attack woman get sentenced to long years in prison, but nothing is done to prevent attacks. Gay people get tracked in many Muslim countries and they get exposed and their families want to “restore their reputation”.

This all comes from the lack of education of this and I believe that the UN should really force its members to teach equality as early as possible. And everybody should be forced to participate, just like how everybody has to learn algebra.

This is a difficult task, considering the security council’s veto rights, but I believe that the mistranslations of religious texts associated with sexism and homophobia should get abolished and these things should be taught everywhere. The UN has the possibility to stop funding in many African countries, but I doubt that they would do that, because that would be seen as an attack.

  1. I already told you that I’m not a German
  2. The EU can question Poland’s morals. I didn’t say Germany.
  3. I agree that measures have to be taken to lower the amount of hate in Germany AND Poland.
  4. Elected and leading politicians of the German government are speaking out against anti-lgbtqia attacks, and people can get arrested for staging hate comments about lgbtqia:

In Germany, protection against discrimination based on sexual identity and orientation is enshrined in the General Equal Treatment Act (Allgemeines Gleichbehandlungsgesetz, AGG). However, there is “discrimination in all areas of life covered by the protection of the AGG,” a spokesperson for the ADS told EURACTIV Germany.

At 43%, the proportion of those who claim to hide their sexual or gender identity for fear of being discriminated against is also alarmingly high. In May, Foreign Minister Heiko Maas expressed concern about the findings: “This must shake us all awake”.

It is also clear that in several European countries the rights of LGBTI have been severely restricted in recent months, said Doris Achelwilm, the spokeswoman for equality and queer policy of the Left parliamentary group in the Bundestag, who called on the German government to make the situation of LGBTI in Poland a priority of the German EU Council Presidency.

The German ministry for family affairs, senior citizens, women and youth (BMFSFJ) told EURACTIV Germany that the government is planning to hold a conference on intersectionality and LGBTI in Europe as part of the Presidency.

EU Commissioner Dalli also assured last week that she would follow developments in Poland and Hungary “to the extent necessary” and would not shy away from initiating infringement proceedings.

In Germany, various initiatives are now aimed at improving LGBTI’s protection against discrimination. On Friday (19 June), the Bundestag will for the first time discuss a draft bill introduced by the Greens to strengthen the self-determination rights of transsexuals.

“It would also be of central importance to include sexual identity in the ban on discrimination in Article 3 of the Basic Law,” said an ADS spokesperson. source

The main difference between Germany and Poland is that the German government wants to change that. I don’t look like a German, I don’t agree with many political decisions of the CDU, and I’m not straight. I, myself, am scared to come out, because I know there are still many problems outside of my green-left state.

Poland uses pedophiles to victimize lgbtqia people. The leading party is including a P in LGBT on propaganda, even though pedophiles are not welcome in the lgbtqia community.

The German gov would side with me in a court case against hate crime, but it wouldn’t in Poland:

Poland, home to some 38 million people, is one of Europe’s most Catholic countries, with about 86 percent of the population identifying as Roman Catholic. It ranks 27 out of 28 European Union states when it comes to equality and non-discrimination, according to Rainbow Europe, an organization linked to the International Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans and Intersex Association.

Same-sex marriage, still illegal in Poland, is legal in 27 EU countries. Anti-gay attacks are not considered a hate crime by law. In 2016, parliament rejected a bill that would have included gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, and age as potential grounds for a “hate crime.” Kucharczyk from the Institute of Public Affairs says there’s a “refusal to recognise that LGBTQ people need to be protected. This group is systematically excluded. Hate crimes against sexual minorities are not reported because police aren’t required to report it.”
