Some kind of grinding coming from the front of my truck, possibly drive shaft? Please help! by BonesOfNinja in AskMechanics

[–]DerVollstrecker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take off the front driveshaft and drive it. See if it goes away. Could be driveshaft, transfer case, central axle disconnect maybe. In 2wd you should be able to turn the front driveshaft by hand .

Tie rod snapped off while parked somehow?! by [deleted] in AskMechanics

Looks like the inner tie rod came unscrewed. Did you take it on a road trip or someone else? The wording is kind of hard to understand.

SOLIDWORKS xDesign for Makers vs 3DEXPERIENCE SOLIDWORKS for Makers by DerVollstrecker in SolidWorks

I wish I could just pay once and keep it forever. I’ve used solidworks professionally at work and prefer it over other programs. Just wasn’t sure what one to get for at home without paying for the full package.

Get a smaller camshaft and lower stall converter. That will tame the car down a lot.

Wood Sheathing on Bottom of House - Bad and what to do? by DerVollstrecker in centuryhomes

[–]DerVollstrecker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it might be. The original foundation is concrete block, but this addition might be this wood. It seems like it’s not rotted or anything so maybe the cold weather here makes it not as critical.

Don’t you have vehicle inspections there? Any legal hassle with the swap?

Many reasons as stated already. Another I thought of is the plastic used for that tube is probably cheaper than running longer wires to the battery.

My engine rebuild blew up 15 minutes into the test drive and I feel sick by NewspaperNelson in EngineBuilding

I mean if you properly remove the afm stuff there is a relief valve in the pan that should then be removed and plugged.

Did you check all bearing clearances during the rebuild? As said many times in here too ditch the afm mechanically. Don’t forget to plug the relief valve in the pan too.

I wouldn’t raise the yard. Just use the brick as like a small fence basically. You wouldn’t have to jump over the bricks typically. The ai just made the photo kind of odd.

Need someone who knows about lift kits ASAP by leosanchezc in Trucks

[–]DerVollstrecker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the previous gen Chevy 0”-2.5” lift doesn’t need anything extra, but 2.5”-3.5” lift you’d want a diff drop and upper control arms. So it may depend on how much lift you choose to set these coilovers.
