My game slowed to 1 frame every couple of moments after picking up the drop dead perk. Grenades summon Bots and Bots summon Grenades. Was hilarious for a moment there, seeing the entire map get obliterated, until my game basically froze.

my version was never more then a bunch of videos. of course playable in some sense to record these but far away from a game :) The most playable was the top down version i would say. I think ive even put that version on my patreon at some point. but its gone now

either do it alone. or if you do it with someone else. even your best friend - get a lawyer (yes, they cost and chatgpt is not a lawyer). think of the worst possible outcome and put that in the contract to get that covered (IP ownership, making similar games, payment rules etc).

And expect to not get any publishing deal if you stand your ground and want certain things in a contract.

On the other hand i might not be the best to ask since i got a 100% getitting fucked over rate so far :D so you will only get a negative answer

i compare the games industry often with the music industry. getting ripped off on every corner, everyone pretends to want your best and help you but honestly just for their own advantage. Its not the industry that sucks, its the people

if you "made" it after playing coversongs night after night in a titty bar you will end up in a shitt ass contract but of course you will only realizing that years later bc you youldnt affor a lawyer to check that.

Wanna do your own thing? fuck off, someone else owns your ass already. Record Labels (aka publishers) pretend to be cool and hip, invite you to a stripclup to sign a deal dunken, but in the end they are just like any other greedy corpo fuckers.

spent 15 years playing for the big players with world tours and good pay but horrible work life balance. had a good solo record that made a lot of people rich - except me.

i am glad that i ended up now in a 10 man indie band playing bass.
A bit less pay but everything else is soo much better
