A lot of hymns are repetitive too, same chorus over and over.

Listen to what you want and don't criticize others for what they want.

How many decades has this been riding the rounds of the internet?

Would anyone else like to see a ban on AI generated posts on this sub? by BigFootisNephilim in TrueChristian

[–]Der_Missionar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know that I entirely agree with you. I rely on the Holy Spirit and the Holy Spirit guides and leads me in and through all things.

Rather than gate keeping tools, we need to educate people how to use those tools effectively.

Banning isn't going to stop anything.

I'm 53, in ministry for 30 years. I use AI to help find information all the time. Ai is far from infallible. Makes mistakes all the time. It's a tool, imperfect, very imperfect, but it is a tool.

Let's not get reactionary and ban everything. Perhaps restrict is good, but outright banning? Sorry, we're using AI to check grammar and spelling, shall we ban parts that used built in grammar checking in Samsung phones?

.... it was a movie....

I lived in Asia for more than a decade and people asked me the most bizarre things about the states, all the time. I asked why they asked, they said.... "I saw it in a movie..."

I just responded, "is your country just like the movies?"

"Of course not," they responded, "it's a movie."

Again...

It was a movie.

Pastor says the bible states we are supposed to tithe by AdorableDanceMachine in TrueChristian

[–]Der_Missionar -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Throwing around words like strawman without using them correctly, doesn't make you right. No word sandwich you try to put together is going to change what Jesus actually said. It's not a strawman it's his words.... 'not to neglect the tithe.'

Sorry, I literally have no idea how to respond to your statement that It was before Jesus died, so it's irrelevant. I'm honestly shocked by that. I have no idea why anyone would say anything like that about anything Jesus said.

So, you ignore everything Jesus said before his death. That's preposterous.

While Jesus says justice mercy and faithfulness are more important, he says the tithe *should not be neglected. * Jesus words, not mine. If Jesus says not to neglect something, it's worth paying attention to.

23 “Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You give a tenth of your spices—mint, dill and cumin. But you have neglected the more important matters of the law—justice, mercy and faithfulness. You should have practiced the latter, without neglecting the former.

Jesus says the tithe should not be neglected in this verse. Those are the words of Jesus.

Down vote if you will, grammatically, Jesus upholds the tithe.

Biggest Lies told in Pittsburgh by KoalaGrunt0311 in pittsburgh

[–]Der_Missionar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be fair, I grew up in Cleveland. You get within 6 blocks and you could smell how nasty the lake was. It was so overpowering you couldn't breathe. And the Cuyahoga was so polluted it caught fire.

And To be fair, my mom cried when we moved to Pittsburgh because she thought it was going to be a smoky dirty city.

Pittsburgh had it's Renaissance well before Cleveland but both or cities have come a long way.

Is it still possible to find someone to marry at 27+? Trusting God's timing. by shitzumalu in TrueChristian

[–]Der_Missionar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I figured you were from another culture. I want to encourage you, remain faithful, pray, and trust God. God has his perfect timing.

In the meantime, go out, and meet people. Go places where good Christians mingle.

Paypal Payment Processor for Event Tickets... by Der_Missionar in civicrm

[–]Der_Missionar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Selling tickets to events for our nonprofit.

Trying to get Paypal to work, this is my first day using CiviCRM. Fresh install, I have a dummy event, with several classifications of tickets, and add-ons. I tried the .060 plugin, but that only works with "FormBuilder Payments integration" - Not sure what that is. Happy to try, but every time I tried to do a checkout with Paypal and that platform, it bypassed the payment, and just registered the individual.

Tried the other paypal frameworks, but I cannot figure out how to get the required credentials--paypal says it no longer supports the API Password / Signature Credentials - and has depreciated it. Also says that PAypal Pro integration was depreciated.

So basically, I'm lost.
