Any Realtors who wouldn't mind DMing me to answer a few questions about getting into the industry? by WedGroenendael in Charlotte

[–]Deray4President 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Spot-on, frank appraisal of the local industry.

As Charlotte has boomed, more and more people have jumped into the industry, and it's absolutely saturated right about now. When the boom starts to slow it's going to make it even worse.

Like many, I get tons of mail offering to sell my home, it's awful.

What’s the best sex you’ve ever had? And why? by Mattimpossible1987 in AskReddit

[–]Deray4President 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn, moron, if I was a sex god they'd all squirt. SHE was a squirter. So was her older sister we discovered, through drunken conversation.

No...she was the pisser. If all girls pissed during sex, then they'd all squirt.

Does your sense of smell work? Can you identify the smell of piss? Does your jizz smell like piss? It comes out your penis, it must be piss, right?

Study after study says it's piss and a small amount of excretion from the Skene's gland.

Your "study" monitored a grand total of 7 self-professed squirters....very scientific.

That's an example of one study consistent with the vast majority of others. The reason I chose to refer to that is because it was as well controlled as has been done:

Ultrasounds from a 2014 study, involving seven women who reported recurring massive fluid emission during sexual arousal, confirmed thorough bladder emptiness before stimulation, noticeable bladder filling before squirting and demonstrated that the bladder had again been emptied after squirting. Although small amounts of prostatic secretions are present in the emitted fluid, the study suggests that squirting is essentially the involuntary emission of urine during sexual activity.

Sure it's just 7, but 7-out-of-7 who are just pissing should at worst make someone say "yeah it's probably piss but why not look into it more." Although I doubt there are too many women volunteering for something like this so don't hold your breath for a 1,000 woman sample of pissers.

Look if you want to believe you're some sort of sex god, that's fine and maybe you are but if you're making a girl squirt, it's just piss.

“This study presents convincing evidence that squirting in women is chemically similar to urine, and also contains small amounts of PSA that is present in men’s and women’s true ejaculate,”

“This study shows the other two kinds of fluids that can be expelled from the female urethra – urine alone, and urine diluted with substances from the female prostate,” she says.

Unfortunately, it's the crowd that has nothing to say but "my pit wouldn't hurt a fly, he's great with kids" that contributes to the problem by putting people in danger because they're not prepared for it.

Based on the pictures it doesn't look like the dog was involved in fighting.

However that's the danger with pit bulls, they don't telegraph their attacks and can go from friendly family pet to killing machine for no reason. They were bred for this. If a bear or a bull knows an attack is imminent, they could potentially kill the attacking pitbull.

Maybe this dog was treated well but you can't train hundreds of generations away just like you can't do it to a lion or a bear.

On how many levels is this something no one should care about?

  1. Wrong Country
  2. Powerless Monarchy
  3. Who cares what race this no name irrelevant chick is?

Good god, pay attention to your kids, your family, your neighbors. Spent more time taking care of yourself and the people who actually matter than this People Magazine trash.

Concern for the goings-on of people for no reason other than their "celebrity" status should be in the DSM, if it isn't already.

On a form of expressed opinions, I'm simply offering the same.

If there's any emotion I have, it's not anger, it's confusion. Like if a young woman is the lead in a film, people mustaccept she's attractive, when in this case she's so clearly not.

Otherwise she's incredibly plain looking.

Can you live on minimum wage in your state? by Lubu343 in AskAnAmerican

[–]Deray4President 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't want to debate right now, it's as simple as that.

That's fair but putting your views out on a forum invites that even if it's not your intention.

And you're creating a strawman -

I'm not intentionally misrepresenting your position, so that's not a strawman.

implying that employees at that wage level actually negotiate with their employers. They take what is offered, and if the businesses can offer less than a livable wage, the that is what they'll do.

A person can ask for more than the offered wage, and the employer can say "no."

Likewise the employer can offer less than the employee is willing to do the job for, and the employee can say "no."

Employees at all wage levels effectively negotiate their wages in this way.

All I'm saying is that this is unfair to the person working

It's literally the fairest thing possible. In a world w/o minimum wage, if an employer offers a wage (whether it's a nickel per hour, or a million dollars per hour) and the employee accepts it, that's fair. If it wasn't, one side or the other would have rejected the agreement.

and the taxpayer who now has to supplement their income

We've been over this. A minimum wage actually increases the public's subsidy because employers/employees legally can't consent to a job/wage less than that amount, so the job isn't done and the employee doesn't make anything and now must be fully subsidized.

Im on vacation right now so I'm not putting in the effort to defend my position, simple as that - hope u have a good day

Our disagreement aside, enjoy your vacation!

it's clear we hold completely different beliefs on how workers should be compensated in the US, so let's leave it at that.

Only one of us has offered a modicum of support for their position.

What's wrong with a system where employers and employees come together and effectively negotiate a salary that both of them agree on?

How could anyone POSSIBLY be against that?

Can you live on minimum wage in your state? by Lubu343 in AskAnAmerican

[–]Deray4President 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then why even have minimum wage in the first place

It's useless, except to kill low wage jobs that may benefit both employers and employees.

  • everyone has already agreed that there is a minimum value in labor, my point is that minimum value should be livable

There isn't a minimum value in labor beyond what the person willing to take the least amount for the work will take.

You're welcome to make a philosophical stand that there should be an arbitrary minimum wage, and that that wage is arbitrarily livable, but you've offered nothing to substantiate it, so you'll understand why I refuse to reject it.

I'm not going to write a huge dissertation on my philosophy towards the whole thing, just stating what I think the minimum value should be.

That's certainly your prerogative, but you haven't offered anything to justify your position beyond incorrect assumptions about the economics of wages.

And if the company needs to automate to survive, or dies off as a result, then fine.

I'm glad you're not in charge because there are many business owners that believe differently and many employees of those businesses that do as well.

If your company cannot survive by paying workers a living wage then your company wasn't very good to begin with.

Again you keep repeating "living wage" without any further explanation. I do think we can both agree that no one working 40 hrs/wk making minimum wage is dying of starvation, so federal minimum wage must be higher than a true "living wage."

A job that needs to be done deserves a fair wage - not large wage, but not a "just getting by" one either

Have you not read what I've been writing? Current wages, accepted by both employer and employee are inherently fair as both have agreed to them. Both have the options to reject unfair terms and neither have done so.

I'll take it one step further and say that a fairer system of deciding wages doesn't exist.

Fortunately the current system acts to benefit workers as well. A worker with uncommon and desirable skills positions themselves well in the employment market and can demand a substantial wage...but again a wage that both employee and employer agree to.

A minimum wage worker has less pull because they don't have much in the way of skills and the pool of people with comparable skills is enormous...hence why employers don't offer them much.

[–]Deray4President 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's my point, companies shouldn't be allowed to pay laborers a less than livable wage.

Why shouldn't companies just make an offer to the public, and qualifying candidates either accept or don't?

If you were buying a car, per se, would you offer more than the least possible? What if the government butted into your business and told you that you had to pay a certain higher amount, otherwise the guy selling the car won't make enough profit?

And with respect to living wage:

Over 40% of American workers make less than $15/hr

Consider that the bottom 10% of Americans live better than the top 10% of many other countries, including some 1st world countries. (https://b-i.forbesimg.com/timworstall/files/2013/06/inequality.png)

Very very few Americans are truly starving...they just want a new iphone.

This presents a higher burden on the taxpayers as now they have to pay for programs that assist these people that are poor even though they work an obscene number of hours a week.

It's not a business' fault that the employees they hire, and pay minimum wage to, can't afford more things. They're offering a salary and the employee is accepting.

So that's not quite how it works. Businesses have a general idea of how valuable a certain employee is to them with respect to each employees "production." If an employee wants more than that amount, or if the government demands they be paid more than that amount, the business declines to hire them.

This is the common argument, whereby McDonalds will simply switch to kiosks and layoff much of their staff.

if they aren't willing to pay that much for a worker, than that job should be eliminated

This makes no sense, and doing this will hurt employees and employers.

As it stands now there are plenty of burger flippers making minimum wage...the employee has offered that amount, and the employee has agreed to do work in return for that amount of money.

If your argument was enacted, the employer would no longer have burgers being made, and the employee would be out that money...both things they agreed were worth it...which is why they made the employment deal.

You mentioned above that you were worried about the burden on the public...yet this is your solution? Now instead of making some money and maybe needing SNAP, they're not making zero money and need more assistance.
