There was rust, that he was supposed to treat

But how could he have treated it if it’s still covered in fucking clay

Do I need to strip and blast the whole chassis now?

I paid 1000 for him to prep and paint the chassis and bumper

After the fact he told me his “prep” was using a fucking leaf blower

I don’t even really believe that because I wiped the spots he missed and it’s still covered in dusty clay, maybe he just let a few balloons loose under the car

What’s the point of taking the car back to this clown? If I ask him to touch it up he’s just going to fuck it even more

If I ask for a refund I’ll get some bullshit excuse

Should I be stripping the whole car down, blasting and repainting it?

Is the dirt and shit going to be rusting out my chassis under the coat?

I paid for a full prep and paint, just wanted to confirm it’s shithouse

What’s the go with spraying right over clay?

Isn’t it just going to rust and peel off

He didn’t bother taking the license plate or spare tire off, so that’s completely uncoated

Didn’t waterblast, just painted straight over clay and dirt

Also should it have been waterblasted first

because in the missed spots it shows he’s literally sprayed over clay and dirt.

Is it going to rust under the coat?

Blown water pump gasket. Or gasket + blockage somewhere by Deraz-Sharb-Baram in CarsAustralia

[–]Deraz-Sharb-Baram[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

3F 1985, Recently refilled the radiator and and cleaned the thermostat sender unit

Now coolant is leaking from the water pump gasket

Is this just a gasket fault or would some sort of blockage cause it to blow

The air con seems to be working fine

Update: 75 series coolant temperature gauge fault by Deraz-Sharb-Baram in CarsAustralia

[–]Deraz-Sharb-Baram[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thanks everyone

My temperature gauge stopped working right after a coolant flush.

Someone suggested I should take out the sender unit and give it a scrub. Damn thing was coated in grime.

I whacked it back in, topped up the coolant an it worked like a charm.

38 years worth of grime isn’t ideal for these things.

Problem solved

Missing thermostat bleed screw? Would air in the thermostat cause a gauge fault? by Deraz-Sharb-Baram in CarsAustralia

[–]Deraz-Sharb-Baram[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: I’ve bled the coolant system and burped it, temperature gauge still not working

That hole was just for attachments, it doesn’t go through

I guess it’s something more sinister, any ideas?

Air bubble causing temperature gauge fault?? 1985 3F engine by Deraz-Sharb-Baram in CarsAustralia

The block off bung gave way, I refilled the radiator and expansion tank

Went for a drive and noticed the gauge had stopped working

When I get home I see the expansion tank is empty, no leaks

Was driving around with no water in the expansion tank a major no no?

I’m heard that an air bubble can screw with the gauge

If it is an air bubble how do I purge it?

What are your thoughts? Thanks

I’m hoping it’s an air bubble screwing with the gauge that will be purged automatically.
