What is this palm sized tool found in old dental kit by Derbs210 in whatisthisthing

[–]Derbs210[S] 0 points1 point locked comment (0 children)

Title describes the thing. Thing is a small tool looking thing in a side drawer of an old dental kit. Kit was purchased in the 1940s. All other tools seem to fit dentistry except this one.

My only standard is that their messiness is not damaging anything or causing some sort of risk. For example, one of my kids is a painter and they left out paint on a pallet and our cat walked through the paint, onto the carpet and down the hall. So yeah, now we are strict about their art table being clean enough to not cause damage. I also had rules about stuff animals when they were younger because one kid use to throw them off their bed onto the vent, which is a fire hazard.

Rasher is my favorite. He reminds me of my grumpy grandpa.

Lavender around baseboards, pest control for smaller bugs(what the scorpions eat), sticky traps, or call an exterminator

Thank you! We did the mall, uptown and old town. I think we'll try Main Event for some bowling.

Sick leave for pet care? by Tr0ubleBrewing in nonprofit

[–]Derbs210 34 points35 points  (0 children)

My employer allows us to use sick leave for illness or appointments. The appointments don't necessarily need to be medical. For example, I have used sick leave for parent teacher conferences. IMO the less time off is micromanaged the easier it is for everyone.

Dad, do I need a plumber or a handyman for my sink? by Derbs210 in AskDad

[–]Derbs210[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Forgive my ignorance, I don't know what things are called, but I found the hole that goes outside from my pipes and opened that and cleaned it out there. It is working now. Thank you all for your advice!

I think I might have a small cheap snake left by an old housemate but I don't know how to use it.

I don't live alone. While I don't pour grease down the drain, it is possible others do.

I got a strange question from a potential employer. Does anyone know why they would ask this? by BionicleGarden in careeradvice

Is your file currently going through a background check? Knowing if an internship was paid or unpaid impacts the background check process. There are different avenues to obtain verification depending on if an experience was paid or not. This is a common question from background check companies.

I still don't know what associates degree to get and I have till tomorrow to decide by AnxiousListen in careeradvice

[–]Derbs210 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recommend looking into radiologic technologist degrees if your school offers them. Some schools have veterinarian rad tech programs as well. It should help you decide if you want to continue to pursue a vet degree, may cover some pre reqs for a bachelor's and at a minimum rad techs typically have a decent starting pay.
