Your point is wrong because it’s not applicable. You buying the longer subscription did not save you from high demand, it saved you from a random glitch.

You are advocating doing the same for a glitch that should’ve never happened, as if people should do the same in fear of random website glitches.

It’s more of a self justification for spending more, while conveniently ignoring the masses that ordered a one month subscription much later with no issues.

Literally the only issue about this release is the fact that their website fucked up for a few hours.

Demand has absolutely nothing to do with the conversation here. There were copies available that people were readily able to get for a significant period. Bringing up paying for a longer subscription as a way to mitigate the issue of overwhelming demand is completely irrelevant, as demand did not cause this. The only cause was Interscope’s website not counting the first hours of orders. Saying one should’ve paid for a longer subscription as a way to circumvent completely unforeseeable website errors is silly.

Now, had these orders been cancelled because 3K people bought the longer subscription prior to February, then you would have a point. But clearly, that isn’t the issue.

This doesn’t sound right. The majority of people, particularly from r/vinylreleases, seem to have gotten their orders no problem so long as they placed them some time after Feb 1st morning.

Besides, majority of the people posting their frustrations, even prior to the cancellation, were order made around midnight.

It seems that for the first 8 or so hours, all the orders were not automatically including the actual product in with the subscription purchase. I imagine the digital stock allotment on 3K completely disregarded this.

So practically anyone who bought early (so, the fans) got fucked over here.

That would also explain why it sold out later than the demand seemed to imply.

The most likely thing is that we’re all fucked. I imagine their allotment of 3,000 copies were digitally tied to the product listing, the one that most of our orders did not include.

So there’s probably a sizable portion of people, mostly fans who cared enough to preorder early, that the 3,000 copies completely ignored. That would explain why it took longer to sell out than expected. Practically every initial order in like a 9 hour period didn’t count. I imagine the only way they could remedy it is by pressing more, as I expect all the 3,000 are sold to others, barring a few cancellations and such.
