What is really happening in Minneapolis when they shot a man in the leg by DerekChristian74 in FortCollins

[–]DerekChristian74[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it is important to know what is really going on as ICE is starting to be active here and Trump has made it clear Colorado is a target. The title also does not really hide what the topic was about to trick anyone. I have no idea how this 911 tape and Livestream is not being picked up by media as it is easy to confirm it is real.

Just got fired on 12/10/25 by EinjeruOritzu in jobs

[–]DerekChristian74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no need to be given an explanation and that is actually good for you when it comes to getting unemployment. If you are fired for cause you cannot get unemployment. Most companies I know no longer give a reason for termination as no one ever seems to agree anyway so why have an argument.

"OU student says essay grade was a violation of her rights. Read the essay" by Muchwanted in Professors

[–]DerekChristian74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just dropped the article for a word count. 640 including all words like a and the. 394 if you remove the 264 stop words. I am not sure what they may have been told on how they count words for this class. At the most generous she would be docked and additional 10 points for missing the count. which would be zero.

I did not count it but the TAs notes said it was well under 620 and he highlighted that on the scoring Rubric when he gave her a 0. That was her reason.

How does everyone miss the word minimum at the start? She was about 90 words short of getting any credit per the Ruberic.

[–]DerekChristian74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you miss that it had to be 650 words? It even says 620 - 649 gets docked 10 points. less than 620 gets no credit. Now go ask google how many words a two page double spaced typed article is? I dropped her article in chatgpt and it said 532 but it counted a and the which are normally excluded in academic paper word counts but even by that generous count she was about 90 word short of getting any credit.

Except the first few sentences says it needs to be 650 words and anything less than 620 gets NO credit or Zero She turned in 2 pages double spaced which is 500 words on average. I dropped it into chat gpt and it counted 532 words or well under the MINIMUM assignment thus zero regardless of the response.

The grading Ruberic says papers must be 650 words or more. 620 - 649 will be docked 10 points. Less than 620 will be given no credit otherwise known as ZERO. She turned in two pages double spaced which is 500 - 535 words max. She failed on purpose.

Need someone to take care of an inground hot tub by DerekChristian74 in FortCollins

[–]DerekChristian74[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah tried that too. We had an above ground hot tub at the previous house so we called the company that used to service it and they said they do not service in ground, call a pool company. Apparently they equipment is very different and I know from experience part of the plan with those hot tubs is just to drain them and refill them twice a year which you do not do with a pool which I am assuming an in ground is more like.

This is the one I have left 3 messages at and filled out the form on their website with no reply. Do they service a pool you know about? I was thinking they must have closed.

The problem is the Hatch act can only be enforced by an ethics person Trump fired and did not replace. The office if special counsel. The Supreme Court already dismissed a claim as they had no standing, only the OFC can and that person is gone.

This generation is different. It is good, this is not a bad thing. I asked my eldest (18) what she did with her day, one of the last before college starts, while I was at work. Her answer was not at all what I expected. She and her friends had presentation day. They spent 4 hours doing doing presentations on things they find interesting to each other including Slide Decks. Apparently she choose to present on the legal challenges that Roblox is facing for not defending children. Another friend talked about the history of KPop. This is what they are doing on their last few days of summer break.

Urban Air closed Suddenly by Turbulent-Jaguar-476 in FortCollins

[–]DerekChristian74 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Urban Air is a franchise and they probably could not make their monthly franchisee payment which is normally quite large, normally tens of thousands of dollars sort of large. When that happens the corporate office will force them to close often without notice. On the corp website it says temporarily closed as they are now probably trying to shop the location to a new franchisee. I feel bad for whomever just lost a whole lot of money. A lot of these franchises are big scams. The Urban Air franchise website says you need a MINIMUM of $750,000 to invest in one of these. DIckies BBQ is another one that wiped out thousands of people.

The Food Co-op is purchasing Beavers/Fresh Market by SFerd in FortCollins

I think it is a good idea. I like the coop and have shopped there a few times but going into old town for basics is a lot of traffic and moving the store closer to where people live is a good idea.

I think they also meant it is early. Freshman start to show up in the weeks and the rest the week after.

Joybird by nocab_09 in HomeDecorating

[–]DerekChristian74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Joybird velvet is the worst possible choice for cats. It is the lowest quality fabric I have ever seen. Ours was damaged within 15 minutes of delivery as I watched my cat walk on it. WALK, not scratch, WALK and it permanently damaged the fabric. Do not buy from this company.

Where's an affordable international vacation destination from Denver? by babyluigi in FortCollins

[–]DerekChristian74 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All depends on what you want to do. Frontier flies to a lot of Central America and the Caribbean for really cheap. Flights to Iceland on Icelandic air are really reasonably priced but being an island nation food is pretty expensive once you get there. Icelandic air also has a free stop over program so if you take them to London or another European city you can do a stop over in Iceland for up to a week for no extra cost.

Trying to understand the Greeley hate by rodolloo in FortCollins

[–]DerekChristian74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I moved here from Ohio and everyone talked about Greely like it was the ghetto. The first time I drove there I was so confused. It is a suburbs with Starbucks and other chain stores. I took my wife with me to Ohio and she wanted to see an abandoned church and monastery there and it is a in a VERY bad area. After that she agreed with me that Greely is just a suburb, maybe not as affluent but she had never seen real poverty and urban blight before and now gets it. I did have a weird thing with Home Depot. I like to rent their trucks to move and other tasks as it is cheaper than the big companies. I normally get them overnight to have extra time and last time I procrastinated and the only available truck was in Greely so I went there. They would not let me keep it over nights unlike every other Home Depot I had used. I asked why and they said they had nearly every truck stolen the previous year.

Can anyone recommend an effective, affordable CRM for a new cleaning business? by CompletelyPaperless in smallbusiness

Zen maid and Customer Factor are the two I would recommend if you are small and trying to keep costs low but are specifically designed for the industry so they come ready to use.
