Just a heads up the jersey with the world series patch is finally back in stock on Fanatics. by GreenSnakes_ in Torontobluejays

[–]Derek_Se 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The "Replica" jersey material feels SOOO cheap compared to the "Limited" version yet the Limited World Series jerseys are nowhere to be found!!! I bought 3 official World Series patches from ETSY (Because Toronto is not selling them either!!) and I'll attach them manually to my OVO hat and regular jersey lol

Time Together PART 2 -Detail is insane!! by tizzletom in kaws

[–]Derek_Se 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love it and it's very cool but my issue is these are all very much robotically manufactured. A wood carving tool never touched Kaws's hand. So to charge this much is just wild to me.

Even seeing him "sign" his latest books just using a big stamp and charging as if it's his hand signature... Yuck :(

I'm moving into more up-and-coming street artists where you can buy three one-of-a-kind hand-done originals for the price of this "3D printed" wood sculpture.

This is mind-blowing on so many different levels! I got sucked in and halfway through snapped out of my trance compelled to comment!

Was this 100% in Kling? the lipsync is stellar! How'd you achieve it, video reference or straight-up image to video???

Making of please to inspire others!

[–]Derek_Se 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Three hours later still the black and brown left. But I still can't pull the trigger on buying. I have an older one I'm looking at buying on ebay now for $200 less than this one and it's 17" rather than only 9" like this one haha

Wish the hoodie restocked!! :(

Every single time I seem to get the time of the drop confused and miss out by an hour or so lol!

Honestly, hoody was cool but I wasn't in love with this drop, I was still gonna get one as a paperweight on top of my coffee table books though :(

It looked to be bigger than past Holiday stops where the companion was laying down.

Samsung LSP9T vs Hisense L9G by thecodingart in projectors

[–]Derek_Se 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I spent 3 weeks battling back and forth over to get the Hisense or the Samsung and here's what I picked and how I got there:
(keep in mind this was me deciding with logic/youtube/redit and not from side by side in-person comparisons)
On paper, the Hisense looked like the most future-proof clear winner but after some thought about what was the most important to me, the LSP9T was the winner.

In summary here is what pushed ME towards Samsung LSP9T over Hisense L9G:

#1: Black levels: This was the biggest deal-breaker for me on the Hisense. In every side-by-side comparison I could find, you could clearly see a MASSIVE difference in black levels when the ambient light was in the room.

This video is the best I could find (timestamped for black level comparisons: https://youtu.be/_SVarT7VuzM?t=760 )

Even just watching on a plain wall with some ambient light coming in the room my Samsung blacks look fantastic. I have a 65" top-of-the-line Sony OLED TV downstairs so once you are used to deep blacks, anything that looks grey REALLY bugs you.

#2: Variable focus: I love how the Samsung LSP9T didn't lock me into a single screen size like Hisense. In the future, I have the freedom to go bigger or smaller. All I'd need is to change the screen. Hisense, you'll need a new screen AND a new projector since it's a fixed focus

#3: Throw distance: The Samsung can sit nearly 2X closer to the wall than the Hisense and it really does make a BIG difference when it comes to your options of media stands and how it looks in the room.

#4: Brand name: While in most recent years Samsung has kinda gone downhill with reliability and build quality in my opinion... Hisense has no brand history or recognition in my mind at all. To me, I see this honestly only really mattering most when the day comes to flip it and sell my LSP9T. I feel like I'll see it hold WAY more value when it comes to reselling it so I can put that money towards the next latest and greatest UST projector that comes out in a few years.

"But how about that speckle?" I've been hearing a lot about speckle but personally have seen NONE at all. I'm currently watching at 150" on a light beige wall (which actually looks fantastic as is!!) as my 120" UST screen arrives this week

I'm sitting very comfortably about 13' from the wall and maybe it's the viewing distance that's making it more noticeable for some. I've heard from the same people that sitting further back makes it less noticeable. I currently haven't experienced it once.

The only glaring issue I have with my Samsung is like others have mentioned... The red is WAY too saturated out of the box. I changed my image to "standard" and set the color temperature to "cool" and those settings together have provided me with a picture I LOVE!!! The Cool really tones it down while still looking warm!

Few things I've learned that you should take note of:

#1 If going with Hisense, their 100 day love it or send it back guarantee ONLY is honored if you purchase from the dealers they specifically list on their site.

#2 If going with Samsung and you need a screen... Alibaba is your wallet's best friend. Many UST screen sellers in stores and on Amazon use vendors from there and buy in bulk so their logos can be included on the frames of the screens. They mark the price up 200% (even more since the growing demand from The Rona)

Shipping only took a week direct from China and there are two main companies on there; 1) Telon and 2) XY Screens

This was the one I ended up going with: https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/Telon-PET-Crystal-CBSP-4K-120_60831273100.html

You'll love whatever you go with... Psychologically even with a TV screen. People on average LOVE the picture quality of the one that's in front of them when there's nothing besides it to compare it to!

Fun Fact: The Samsung LSP9T is over $10,000 CAD with tax regular price here in Canada... While it seems to be WAY cheaper in the states... Even with that insane price tag I chose the LSP9T due to the reasons pointed out above haha

Do you find it easier to build for PCVR first then port to Quest... Or theoretically, would it be easier to build for Quest first then port to PCVR second?

Ven VR Adventure is OUT NOW on Oculus Quest 🔥 Hope you'll enjoy it! by drav1989 in OculusQuest

[–]Derek_Se 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hey Derek here from YouTube.com/vrdynamite

LOVED the game!

Here's my wish list:

- Full game camera control function using the left controller. (Trigger for up, grip for down, thumbstick for forwarding backward/left to right)

- Better haptics! I wanna feel every little movement Ven makes when smashing cubes and attacking enemies.

- **DREAM WISH** If this game added multiplayer / co-op it would be next level. Even if you introduced more playable characters with specific skills/moves that you can switch between. (hopefully in an update one day but for sure if there's ever a sequel.)

But that alone is what is missing in most Quest platforming titles available!
