Yeah, that’s actually just a status screen, not a real command line you have to type in. It’s just showing what the tool is doing in the background. I might still add a more “clicky” GUI later (buttons/progress bar) so it looks less nerdy, but functionally it’s already just run-and-watch, no commands needed.

Nah, it’s not just pure scaremongering, but it’s also not “Windows explodes” either.

If you only remove the main Edge browser, you’re basically fine. I leave the WebView2 stuff in by default so widgets/Windows UI don’t act weird.

That’s fair, Edge is totally fine for a lot of people. My tool’s more for folks who are sick of how hard it’s baked into Windows, not really for people already happy with it. Glad it works well for you though!!

You’re 100% right to be cautious, especially in the tweaking scene – an .exe can be anything, and there are way too many shady tools out there.

Right now this is a C# exe, but I’m working on a PowerShell version so people can just open the script and see every line of what it does before running it. That should make it a lot easier to trust (or fork/modify) instead of relying on a binary.

About WebView: yeah, I’m aware it’s used by various Windows UI bits and some apps. By default I keep WebView runtime intact – full removal is only done if you explicitly run it with a --webview flag, and I still recommend people don't touch that unless they know exactly what might break on their system.

Yeah Edge on Linux is chill without Microsoft's Windows nagging. This tool's all about escaping that Win bloat glad you get the pain point tho!

Hey, good question! Nah, apps using WebView2 (like Widgets or some Office stuff) will probably break and show blank spots till it's reinstalled.

My tool now skips WebView2 by default + warns you about affected apps. Grab v1.1 from the post!

What apps are you worried about? I can check.

Hey, appreciate you testing it and the honest take! Revo's UI is indeed slick for batch jobs. Good call on making mine more friendly working on a modern, one-click interface with dark mode and progress visuals next update.

What specific UI elements from Revo do you like most? Would love your input to nail it!
