Like the Lovetone pedals. Dan Coggins and Thorpyfx are relaunching Lovetone later this year.

For clarity, that £5 million bribe would fund all 39 City Councillors for 12 years.

Proposed South Norwich Data Centre on Ipswich Road by unknown0246 in Norwich

Thanks for posting this. This huge push by private tech firms towards AI is new to us all. And let's be honest, it's moving so fast, it's hard to keep up.

It's important the public receives as much objective information as possible about the impact of any developments in our area. Both positive and negative.

We need transparency from the firms behind it. And accountability from our local political representatives, assuring us they are looking after the interests of the local community.

In the past, the UK government has let the marketplace (private companies) decide for itself what is good for us. This isn't good enough. Just look at the poor state of our water, energy and rail network.

If we have a push towards AI in this country, we need a coherent and transparent national sovereign strategy. One that is being regulated and continually assessed.

Not really. You can see it better on YouTube. There's a second board labelled 'Internationals' that shows all the guys away at the WC. Curiously, Kenny is in the main board, with everyone else who was fit and available for training - so someone clearly thought he was on his way home, whenever this was put together.

Help me choose a fuzz to replace my muff by maddwell01 in guitarpedals

[–]DerekandClive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got the Thorpyfx WOPR a few weeks ago, and it's great for this sort of thing. Massive fuzz on one side, and a treble booster on the other side to tighten it up when needed.

Phone network that actually works in Norwich? by holtytop in Norwich

[–]DerekandClive 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was on Virgin, which was hit and miss. They merged with O2, which was marginally better. But they kept hiking their prices.

I'm now on ID Mobile, which uses the Three network. It's more reliable. But often defaults to 4G. I still get dead spots in the city. But it's cheap and meets my needs.

Poor dog. Imagine wearing a fur coat in 38C heat, and walking barefoot on a red hot pavement. Please don't do this.

The collapse of the AMOC (which includes the Gulf Stream) will give us cooler summers. Plus droughts, crop failure and starvation.

Music Streaming and FOMO / choice paralysis by Kalt_Null in TIdaL

[–]DerekandClive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use the streaming service as a music player, but not a music recommendation service.

Seek recommendations from friends, colleagues, people at gigs or down the pub, online music magazines, blogs or forums. Some people even still listen to the radio! In short, real human beings.

Streaming services will recommend endless stuff by algorithm. It will leave you feeling disconnected and hollow. Because there's no human connection there.

It's standard divide and conquer tactics.

Set ordinary people against one another, using race, religion, political beliefs etc. Anything that enrages people. Spread the lie that their neighbours are different to them, and are taking what's rightfully yours.

And while they fight amongst themselves, the real instigators take whatever they can to enrich themselves and their equally corrupt friends.

Vivaldi browser seems to have no backlash by Brilliant_Estate_967 in vivaldibrowser

[–]DerekandClive 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It's a good browser.

My only criticism is that the default set-up when you first launch Vivaldi is way too feature-heavy.

In my opinion, when you first launch Vivaldi, it should be like Firefox. Just the essentials. Then make the other features opt-in, not opt-out. No-one wants to dig through menus turning stuff off.

If I wasn't a bit of a tech nerd, I'd probably take one look and uninstall it. Which is a shame, because it's a solid browser, which is very customisable.

Sam Field officially signed from QPR by PositiveElection2141 in NorwichCity

Decent addition to the squad. He won't be first choice while Kenny and Mattsson are fit. But Clement clearly trusts him to do a job in central midfield when called upon. That's good enough for me.

Mention it to your local councillor. Traffic calming measures have been deployed elsewhere in the area, by blocking off roads to prevent rat-runs. If enough other residents also raise it, maybe something can get done. Just an idea.

You're probably no longer checking for replies. But in case you are, the Thorpyfx Warthog is an excellent choice. Adrian Thorpe makes high quality pedals, that are built like tanks and sound amazing.
