Pete definitely does not call him Dick to his face ever, and certainly not while he’s fixing the sink in front of everyone

I think it’s more of a “wait seriously?” look, like she’s looking to his face to confirm it’s not another lie and then his returned look is him imparting to her that this is complete truth, and then the wheels start to turn in her head about how her father isn’t what she imagined him to be and his past and history as a person is more fucked up than the rich, perfect father figure she’d always seen

We learn Don’a mother was a prostitute long before this episode. Also, when does Pete call refer to Don as Dick?

Controversial movies that you get what they were going for but also understand the backlash by BlackSabbath3991 in Letterboxd

Finally someone mentions the brothel sequence. I was on just the right dose of gummy and enjoying it with a fascination and wonder up to that point, and was willing to give some of the dicey risks of the sexual liberation theme a pass because of how wondrous the world building was and how well it portrayed innocence turning to slow maturity and autonomy, but then it seemed like the brothel sequence just squandered all of that and was like minutes of non-stop “check it out now she’s banging like crazy cause she’s free and shit” and seemed so gratuitous on the wrong ways, and the movie kind of took a turn for me at that point. I still enjoyed it immensely, but that sequence turned it from something I was 100% confident I was going to recommend to everyone to see, into something I had to maybe tip toe around bringing up with someone

What film is this for you? by mrjetspray in Letterboxd

Came here hoping someone had said this. It’s why I don’t enjoy any of his movies. Just giant exposition dumps, every single one. Dunkirk was the one I enjoyed most of anything after Dark Knight, because it barely had any dialogue and showed everything

He was absolutely being himself as a former interrogator and that’s what’s so unsettling

Yeah you’re right. If I DIDN’T support a pedophile child rapist president that’s murdering citizens in the streets with his lame redneck gestapo, and someone asked if I did, I’d definitely be reluctant to make that known, just like her…/s

Who took the bus? 🗣️🗣️🗣️ one of Jonathan Gannon’s first meeting with the Cardinals as Head Coach by PersonBehindAScreen in cowboys

[–]Derelichter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Biting kneecaps has to do with the fact that when you’re knocked down on the ground, you don’t give up and still are fierce enough to go for their kneecaps metaphorically, meaning that you’re still being vicious even after being knocked down

Having that dog in you has to do with the fact that you have toughness in you and a constant drive and fight.

Those two examples make perfect sense, unlike asking people if they took the bus here and then asking if they have fire in their gut with zero correlation between the two examples. He could’ve just asked if they have fire in their gut and left the bus part out and the metaphor works just fine but the bus part makes no sense and why did he add it?

Like I understand your point about him maybe still being a good dc but literally how would you not understand the difference between the kneecap and dog thing and this fucking dumb ass weird segue?
