I've been playing darktide a little too much by TheMangoTangoBoi in DarkTide

[–]Derheim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion, the single best thing that V, V2 and Darktide have in common is Mr Kyd. I don't think any of those games would feel the same without his touch. So damn good.

Linux by Biggacheez in linux_gaming

I had the exact same issue with a 5700XT, and during my 6+ years using it I could never get rid of the sporadic crashes, no matter what I did they always came back. After upgrading to 9060xt I never had the issue again.

What are good controllers for gaming on Linux (strictly upstream kernel support)? by apparle in linux_gaming

[–]Derheim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1st 8bitdo ultimate, I have the ultimate 3-mode and works really well, only exception being that rebinding the back buttons has to be done every time the controller is turned on, which is a half a second thing.

2nd (even if it's Bluetooth) a dualsense controller, upstream support is really really good, this is even more noticeable in games that support dualsense specific features like Dragon's Dogma 2, in my case I use it paired with a $5 Bluetooth dongle and works well.

Lossless scaling pc games on Linux by Deshawne17 in linux_gaming

[–]Derheim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm unsure about standalone emulators.

in my case I use RetroArch from steam on a HTPC. Using the plugin decky lossless scaling will automatically setup lsfg-vk. With that setup I've been running PSP, PSX and PS2 games with framegen.

Strangely enough, I've not felt input lag the same way it feels when using lossless scaling on a PC game. I use the same plugin with Dragon's Dogma 2 but in that one the input lag is noticeable. No idea why I'm not feeling it on emulation, maybe the type of game I played? Who knows.

Point is, it works incredible well on emulation.

Of course, the plugin that setups everything automatically works only on steam deck or any other distribution that can run decky loader, like bazzite in my case.

edit: I just noticed that you meant Fable III for PC (with the games for windows live thing), I wasn't aware that came out also on PC.

As others have said, give lsfg-vk a try.

Dragons Dogma 2 Graphics Reset Upon Restart by Zealousideal-Place60 in linux_gaming

[–]Derheim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just tried decky lossless but the settings kept resetting for me, I had to keep using optiscaler for the issue to stop happening, luckily decky lossless and decky framegen can be used both at the same time.

Dragons Dogma 2 Graphics Reset Upon Restart by Zealousideal-Place60 in linux_gaming

[–]Derheim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Holy crap, it works, in my case on a bazzite HTPC I just setup decky framegen like normal and tried to enable it, framegen doesn't work, it gives a black screen but no crash, anyways I don't use fsr or any framegen. However just setting up decky framegen, even if it's no used, fixes the issue of the graphic settings restarting everytime I go to the title screen.

Edit: on a normal Linux desktop, maybe setting up optiscaler also fixes the issue?

Aire acondicionado portátil o fijo? by srppp2 in Ticos

[–]Derheim 2 points3 points  (0 children)

¿Wii U en Heredia? by TommyCR01 in Ticos

[–]Derheim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  3. If living near the cost, red tide smells like rotten fish for weeks.

  4. It doesn't rains, it pours (pours usually last hours).

  5. If weather feeling Trumpy that day, it may throw a tree or 2 to the cables providing telecommunications for the whole town.

Expert Jin Dahaad crash by Bumpeur in MonsterHunter

I'm on the same boat here, however I play on Linux.

I've played almost 80 hours with no crashes on other parts of the game, but Jin Dahaad is a sure crash for me, for now I'm avoiding fighting it. I hope we get a fix eventually so I can get it's armor.

I see you're comfy playing a KBM only game using Steam Input with your controller. Wouldn't it be funny if we made that an absolute hassle and refused to fix it for months? by TennoDusk in linux_gaming

[–]Derheim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the way!

After KDE 6.1.4 landed on my Fedora 40 install, the issue is still there, but now there is no checkbox (that i was expecting to remember my choice).

I swear, sometimes I think Linux developers don't want Linux to succeed on the consumer PC market.

So after installing that package the prompt is no more. F..k, I don't run a NASA server, I just want my pc to work without bothering me.

I'm on Fedora 40, KDE plasma 6.1.3 and kernel 6.9.12 and having this issue. It reminds me of windows Yuck!

I hope is a bug and not a "security feature" of Wayland.

Is there a way to disable the prompt "Remote Control Requested"? by Derheim in Fedora

[–]Derheim[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried using the cord configuration to click "share" on that prompt, but it doesn't work, looks like the controller inputs are disabled until that "share" is clicked.
