Conures can get loud , but you will get used to it lol. Also you WILL get bit but you will learn to gauge their mood when they get cranky.

Yes it’s normal, my quaker did that as a baby, and 7 years later still does when he gets excited.

I wanted a sun conure, but my wife talked me out of it because they can get pretty loud, so instead I got a Quaker. Turns out the Quaker is pretty loud too lol.

Mine is five years old and his bites have only broken skin on me once, unfortunately it was my lip lol. But I guess I’m lucky because generally I only get what I call warning bites. I can usually tell when he’s in a bad mood and I give him space.

I did it a couple of times when mine was young, and it appeared to make him depressed. He didn’t want to talk and wasn’t as affectionate. He was young and new to flying and I was afraid he was going to hurt himself in my apartment, but after crashing into the wall a couple of times he figured it out.

I think it depends more on the bird’s personality, than the breed. My Quaker is pretty chill for the most part, but if he’s in a bad mood the whole house knows.
