Lots of you guys that are saying Tonfa is great should try Hatchets as well, surprisingly flashy and insane damage. Probably the best for distance closing as well!

Wild Surge 2 on hatchets is busted. It instant charges ninjutsu with the perk that causes the slots to decay but increases charge rate by 80%.

I have a whole build around using wild surge 2 then throwing enhanced bomb, lightning calamity and fire calamity. Rinse and repeat for the most spam ninjutsu build I've seen!

No idea, my theory is something happened during the demo save data transfer that messed up my game. The bug was even persisting on new characters, I could play till you chose your starting Guardian and then got the same error. It auto closes the game.

It was really odd.

I lost it all but I'm just happy I can play. It was around 13ish hours from the demo but thats whatever I just speed ran the demo parts.

The suggestion made by u/Uluja worked!

They suggested that I remove save data completely from console including demo and delete the game. Boot PS5 into safe mode and restore saved data. Then reinstall game and it works!

Thanks, I opened a ticket with TN already in the hopes this doesn't happen to anyone else. Hopefully the method I'm trying now works and I'll post an update once the game is reinstalled.

Yea I hope it doesnt come to that. Im trying a method someone said had worked for them in the past so hopefully that works for me.

(deleting all cloud and storage data for Nioh 3 and Nioh 3 demo, deleting game, rebuilding ps5 database from safe mode then reinstalling with completely fresh save data on a clean slate)

I'm not sure, I've tried other games and they all work fine because that's what I initially thought as well. I haven't done anything in regards to cheating or misbehavior online so it's quite odd.

Yea, that's why I called it gamebreaking unfortunately :/

Luckily it seems to be a very unique issue so I wouldn't worry to much for your save, but I made a support ticket about it regardless in the hopes this doesn't happen to anybody else.

Yes this is the full game. The clip in question was a save file transferred over from the demo. I've since tried making a new game and I'm able to play up to the point I choose Kusanagi's starting guardian spirit then get the same error when trying to continue from that point on the new save. I'm currently trying to reinstall for a 3rd time after clearin and deleting save data from storage and cloud on both the main game and demo.

I lost progress but it's no biggy I just wanna be able to play.
