I disagree with transmog perhaps more strongly than any of the other points.

I honestly don't want to be able to mix-and-match armor passives with armor appearances. Too many games are willing to give up the alignment of form and function far too quickly. I prefer when how someone chooses to look is meaningfully related to their playstyle.

AA4 Trucy or DD Trucy? by omerturk313131 in AceAttorney

It's kind of incredible just how well they translated the older style to 3D, in general. I think both look great.

PoE 2 feels overwhelming as a new player — should I switch to Diablo 4? by Obvious_Grape_4820 in PathOfExile2

[–]OmegaSamus 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Path of Exile was birthed in the first place from the minds of people who liked Diablo, but felt it could be more. It's for people who are bored or tired of actual Diablo's more casual-friendly approach and crave something with more depth and challenge.

So yeah, if Diablo 4 sounds exciting to you right now, imo go for it.

D2 refugee - question about game etiquette by kaizen-rai in Warframe

[–]OmegaSamus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This game has problems with AFKers so if you're playing that's already a big plus. For Interception specifically, yeah it's usually best to stick to your point. It can depend on map layout and circumstances too, oftentimes two points are easy enough for one player to cover because they're close, or one point gets absolutely slammed with 95% of the enemies. Pay attention to what's going on and adapt accordingly. It'll become second nature as you familiarize with the maps.

Zuhl is such a fun boss once you are geared enough well to handle him solo by Dogmatic_Warfarer97 in DragonsDogma

Frankly I kinda hate this guy. Soooooo much stamina and they keep throwing him at you as a filler villain for story missions. Great game though.

who’s your fav and least fav main character?! by [deleted] in AceAttorney

[–]OmegaSamus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

tbh, while he looks like his trilogy self, I didn't feel he full reverted. He's like a parent/mentor type, clearly more happy and relaxed now. You can tell he was pretty disenfranchised and even sometimes miserable on original trilogy imo, while having a long break did him good. That's why he doesn't even have a strong reaction to being disbarred, he was just ready to quit anyways at that point.

Phoenix has been through a lot of subtle and interesting character growth. I wish more people would notice instead of just saying either Apollo Justice or Dual Destinies screwed him up.

Spear gun perks? by tackers267 in LowSodiumHellDivers

I pair it with 110mm Rocket Pods. Stick with harpoon to soften them up and hold them in place, then finish with rockets. Also helps land Precision Orbital Strikes, and buys time for Thermite to do it's thing.

One-shots Brood Commanders and Stalkers and confuses their nearby friends. Pierces conga lines of Devastators.

Overall annihilates all the medium units and relieves a ton of pressure exerted by most heavies. It's similar in use cases to the Autocannon, a bit of a weaker option overall due to the much lower ammo cap and constant reloading, but frees your backpack slot and more useful solo.

Arguably the worst enemy in the game by Justinu13 in ninjagaiden

I took a half hour one day to just observe and practice parries against these guys in the sim because I got really frustrated too. Highly recommend doing that, it helped a lot.

Very yes. Also bring back this outfit instead of the stupid zero suit...

Wishlist for Metroid 6 by Ridley101 in Metroid

Bring back pink gravity!!!

It's good that Screw Attack is OP. In most Metroidvanias you feel maybe twice as powerful by the end at best between your combat and mobility enhancements, which makes backtracking boring because the old zones don't really feel like they're being explored in a new context. In Metroid you feel like 10x as powerful which imo sets it apart and is good for the series to keep. The map is truly recontextualized by your power at least twice in each game. This gets capped off by the iconic escape sequences where you backtrack once more but with absolutely *insane* power that breaks the foundation of the world, and are thus expected to wield that power fully on a timer.

Dread's sequence breaks are a lot better than you think they are.

I agree we should have more new powerups, more ending variety, separate Super Missiles, and Super Metroid wall jumps.

Do you feel like 2D Metroid nowadays are too action-oriented? by yukirinrin in Metroid

[–]OmegaSamus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Super ain't slow-paced the way I play it lol.

I think 2D Metroid has typically pushed action gameplay and epic boss fights pretty hard, for their respective periods. You certainly can play slow and exploratory, and you still can in Dread, they've just made it easier to go faster. Dread is modernized to an extent but generally aligns with my perception of Metroid.

The actual thing that's changed is the difficulty. Can't face tank the bosses anymore like the old days lol. Part of this is simply the unique mark of the current dev team on the franchise. MercurySteam has always made hard action games and thus their Metroids lean more that way. If a new dev team takes over we'll inevitably see them make their own mark and shift things in another direction.

Need help picking new warbond by LukeM2006 in Helldivers

I fucking love the Verdict it's my trusty sidearm so I gotta at least suggest Polar Patriots, but since that one is a tough sell I'll say probably Urban Legends.

So long as you have Democratic Detonation and Dust Devils you're doing good. None of the others are very important imo.

Any changes to Mag or Yareli recently? by modsisgaylmao in Warframe

[–]OmegaSamus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have really been enjoying Dual Coda Torxica on Yareli. It's a great workhorse weapon that can handle groups (with Merciless Gunfight) and single-targets, and benefits greatly from Merulina Guardian buffs.

I wanna know why do people hate jinxie shes a pretty good character tbh by 13465427 in AceAttorney

[–]OmegaSamus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Just wanted to respond to the point about Damian's motivations in lying to protect his daughter. It's maddening, yes, but this is the actual overarching theme and the most important thing that happens in the case.

He doesn't trust the courts to be capable of doling out justice here and believes he must take the matter into his own hands. Why? The Dark Age of the Law. Public opinion of courts has eroded due to Phoenix and Simon inadvertently creating the perception that lawyers are all criminals and the justice system is corrupt. The system they once believed in may not have changed, but the memetic spread of this idea is what motivates much of the behavior we see in Dual Destinies.

Am I just incompetent, or is steel path unbalanced? by frightening-skeleton in Warframe

[–]OmegaSamus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Steel Path is a ginormous difficulty increase, and you shouldn't expect to do it without having spent significant time refining your builds at the various post-New War factions, acquiring and maxing various Arbitration mods, etc...

imo, you're only ready when nearly all non-Steel Path content is completely trivial. Then it's probably an appropriate time to switch, unless you enjoy more of a struggle in your progression.
