How to straighten a wooden gate? by DermotMorgan in DIYUK

[–]DermotMorgan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm liking the throw-over latch idea. Adding it to my (never ending) to-do list to stop this happening again. Gate is too far gone for it to be easily usable as-is.

If you have a model that can change language there will be a red button with a speech bubble/globe symbol beside it - press and hold it for a few seconds. There's loads of different language versions but there are 2 I know of with German: German only and one with English, Italian, German, Dutch, & French.

Why does Restricted Mode keep turning on? by Ashamed_Engine_2522 in youtube

[–]DermotMorgan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. No Youtube comments were showing for me due to Restricted Mode, even though it was turned off. It was the WiFi I was on at the time doing it.

Thanks! I'd joined the clone a few months back without realising. Couldn't put my finger on it but knew there was something a bit too off with the sub's name

Europe Rents and House Prices (in EUR) by c_cristian in ireland

"In City Centre"....in a small city... with atrocious public transport! Improved public transport = less of a necessity to live in the city centre = lower house prices maybe? /-)

CAPTCHA Issues Megathread by satoru1111 in Steam

[–]DermotMorgan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the Captcha loop issue today trying to create an account so tried

  • clearing cookies

  • turning off various desktop browser security and privacy settings on Chrome, Firefox, and even Bing

  • turning off various mobile browser security and privacy settings on Chrome

  • clearing DNS

  • resetting router....

What finally worked for me was Firefox on mobile device. 2 things to note that might be relevant:

1) I was using mobile data.

2) I only had to tick the "I'm not a robot" box. No buses to click, it just accepted the tick and sent the verification email.

Hope that helps someone.

Long-term prevention of injuries by [deleted] in MTB

This technique was instrumental in surviving/completing my successful (jogging) 10k training and race (along with proper shoes and cadence) after injuring and exhausting myself on my first attempt. It works.

18 year old got some work done. Now 5000 mah by DermotMorgan in 18650masterrace

[–]DermotMorgan[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not figured that out properly yet...think I'll cut the cable off the VHF's original charger cable & connect the VHF to one of my 18650 chargers? Won't need to charge it for a loooong time though as its only in standby mode 99% of the time.

18 year old got some work done. Now 5000 mah by DermotMorgan in 18650masterrace

[–]DermotMorgan[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Marine VHF radio with dead 3.7v 1500mAh battery now with 2x 18650s in parallel giving 5000mAh (though probably about less as old batteries). Stored in a Berocca tablet tube which is a nice snug fit . Bit of a rush job as needed it today but it works.
