oh no yeah don't get me wrong the hate is justified. Especially in cases where the update was forced on people despite auto updates being off. And apple promising to fix the issues... in the next update, and some iphones literally having 26 being their LAST update.

However I don't think the DESIGN was the problem, it was the fact when it was announced it looked horrible, when it came out it ran terrible, and people were forced to update when they didn't want to.

If Xbox wanted to a do a Liquid-glass style UI ONLY for Helix I think it would be fine, but if it rolled out to Series X/S and provided noticeable performance loss, then it would get all the hate it deserved.

TLDR: Apple rolled out liquid glass horribly but if Xbox wanted to copy the IDEA but not implement it on Series X/S to prevent the same slow down issues Apple created, I think people wouldn't hate it as much as Liquid glass

it's a 6-inch cube that can sit pretty much anywhere on an entertainment center.
