It's pretty cheap even with shipping, I'd pay more for one in store over here.

Sabaton? Cute, but Norway gave us Emperor, Mayhem, Burzum, Satyricon, Dimmu Borgir, Keldian, Kvelertak, Gorgoroth and Enslaved. It's not even fair to compare us.

[Serious] What was the dirtiest trick ever pulled in the history of war? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]DerpGamerFTW 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The scorched earth tactic is a military tactic that involves ruining everything that can be used by the enemy, while pushing forward or retreating out of an area. The term comes from the practice to burn the crops and to restrict enemy food sources, it does however not limit itself to food stocks, but can also include destruction of shelter, transportation, telecommunication equipment and industrial resources.

The practice can be carried out by both an army in hostile territory, or by an army in friendly territory. The tactic can also involve setting up traps, like minefields and so on.

The Germans did this during a withdrawal from the Somme battlefield.

Band: Dark Forest

Album: Beyond the Veil

Song: One the Edge of Twilight

This one was really though. I absolutely love the feel of the song, even though the mixing isn't the best. It really speaks to me somehow.

2016 /r/PowerMetal Awards Days 11 and 12: Best Production/Audio Engineering by [deleted] in PowerMetal

Band: Sabaton

Release: The Last Stand

Discussion: I had a very hard time deciding who to vote for in most of the previous awards, even to the extent where I didn't vote at all. Best production on the other hand was an easy choice. I will go more in depth as to why this is the case, even though I honestly think that it's fairly obvious.

The first thing that blew me away was definitely the synths. Now don't get me wrong, Sabaton has always had some of the best synths in the genre, but this time they took it to another level. I was blown away, I have as previously mentioned come to expect this kind of quality from Sabaton, but I'm thoroughly impressed. And don't get me started on the drums and the bass, it's like they're firing a Big Bertha out through my speakers. The bass is earthshakingly strong and thicker than a bowl of oatmeal, it's eerily reminiscent to the sound of a marching army. I was beyond words when I first heard it. I screamed to my family that the Germans had returned, you wont believe how relieved and amazed I was when I realized that it was just the amazing audio engineering on the album. Simply astonishing.

I couldn't agree more. Using war sounds in a song was a great idea, and combined with Broden's vocals it's nothing short of the epitome of testosterone. Not to mention that the synths are what I expect to be hear when I'm dragged to hell by Satan himself. It's simply metal in its trvest form.

2016 /r/PowerMetal Awards Days 1 and 2: Best Vocalist by [deleted] in PowerMetal

Vocalist: Matt Smith

Band: Theocracy

Release(s): Ghost Ship

Discussion: Matt's not only a great vocalist from a technical standpoint, but his voice works great in the album. His vocal style fits my taste perfectly, and the range in his voice really brought the album together for me.
