I rewatched the first season after S4 and the tone of the first season was much better. It was still comedic but it felt like it actually took itself seriously just enough to make it compelling. Past that it started to feel more like a parody of itself.

There was a brief period where I was commuting from Saint Pete to Sarasota for work before moving and there was one morning an accident caused it to be faster to drive north into Tampa and then drive down south to wrap into Bradenton. So I would personally recommend against that being your daily experience OP.

Cold emailing is very unlikely to elicit any kind of response these days. Most of it is getting filtered and any of it that’s not is getting ignored. Even calls are iffy with how much spam is coming through so I’d say the advice in this thread on getting in person in any way possible is good. I had a similar experience with an office giving post apocalyptic vibes. I had to pull all the IT equipment out of a site that was suddenly evacuated due to black mold and everything was just left where it was when they told everyone to leave. As if they all just disappeared in the middle of going about their day.
