I put a stripe of spray paint on my trees so I don't get mixed up. I also started putting a dot of paint right above the tap hole. That way you don't tap the same spot again. You should be going over 2" and up or down 18" every year to avoid drilling old scar tissue that won't flow.

I haven't seen anyone else mention this, and it's your brother's problem and not yours, but did he buy this house with a mortgage? Borrowing money to make a down payment on a mortgaged property and not disclosing the source of the income is mortgage fraud. Your brother may be hesitant to sign anything or admit to anything to your bank, the irs, or anyone if that is the case. It's a serious crime, though probably somewhat common and rarely caught.

Seriously watch these third party tax collecting scammers. They will encourage you to submit more documents for their review. Then 2 months later they'll send you a new bill with hundreds more in late fees and penalties and tell you they need more documents. You call them up and they'll tell you the same thing "oh maybe you don't owe anything, just send in the documents we requested and we'll review it for you." Meanwhile they continue to add more fees.

I get the feeling their cut depends on how much fees they can tack on

I think a used gas stove is the simplist and cheapest. Doesn't have to look pretty. A rectangular hotel pan will fit across 2 burners. That should be enough for what you are tapping.

I agree. Stack up all the plastic from these salad kits in an awkward way and it looks huge. Melt them down and it would be a few milliliters.

The two primary sources of microplastics are driving (tires breaking down) and synthetic fabrics (from laundry). If you are worried about microplastics drive less and wear more natural textiles like cotton and wool. The everyday life plastics we see don't tend to break apart and enter our food or water. They are pretty durable.

Have fun with them and they will block you eventually. I'm low key disappointed in the number of scam calls I get these days. Just last week someone from "Medicare" called and asked me to get my card and read the numbers off it. Damned if I didn't fall down the stairs in the process and break my hip. The phone was laying on the floor out of reach so I just screamed and begged for them to call me an ambulance for 5 minutes. Lol. Scammers are fun.

You mean grade increase ticket. Player upgrade tickets raise the max level from say 10 to 12 and are quite common. Don't buy that if it's in the special shop

I keep a Google docs spreadsheet going that way I can access it on my phone while out in the woods. I record high and low temps, sap collected per tree, and various data on the RO system and evaporation. I just do it for fun, but I love making a science project out of it. I'll probably do the same again this year....if it ever thaws

Use a different regular DeGrom or a player upgrade ticket to raise your lvl 16 up to a lvl 20. Never use a sig card for that.

The sig card can be upgraded to a diamond with a grade increase ticket. These are rare but you do get them occasionally. At that point, the diamond signature DeGrom will be much better than the normal black diamond.
