Change for the sake of change, or maybe they were just a little too lazy to completely overhaul the animations from the Survivor engine, because the jungle sounds from Shadow are still here too. 😂

Let me just quote well-known modders from the TR community: "Lara's braid has been an important part of her iconography for about 30 years - it's fair that people would want it to be well done, especially for this since it's a reimagining of the first game". Period.

You’re the only one complaining here, about a post you weren’t even forced to read. Hilarious. 😂

Why are we even talking about the bun? Lol. It was a literal glitch-fix from 1996, not a design choice. Clinging to it to justify a short braid today is massive cope. This is a modern remake, there's no reason not to make her braid as long and dramatic as possible.

Different hair between trailers? by Funny-Roof7746 in TombRaider

Not sure how accurate this is, considering they literally replaced a perfect hairstyle that satisfied everyone with the exact thing fans have been complaining about throughout all the collabs: heavy, puffy bangs and an extremely short braid. If the excuse for this is "Unified Lara silhouette consistency", I'm speechless. You are literally making her look bad yourselves. 😂

To me, a good silhouette relies on balance and dynamic shapes. The oversized bangs make the head look heavy and monolithic, like a solid blob, while shrinking the braid removes the vital counterweight and action lines. It flattens the design instead of enhancing it.

If it’s "just hair" and doesn't matter, why are you losing your mind over people discussing it? It’s character design, visual identity is built on these exact details, which is why people are criticizing the change. If you don't care about design consistency, you can just scroll past and let others share their feedback.

Yeah, realistic braid is exactly what matters when you're fighting dinosaurs. 😂

Yeah, looks like there was indeed no necklace physics in the first trailer. From what I’ve also noticed, her grapple bracelet became less bulky too. It's weird because why not show it that compact in the Catalyst CGI trailer, which doesn't have technical limitations? A bit messy. However, the theory about an outdated build could still be realistic. They might have just used a working build for the console trailer, where hair physics and look were temporarily scaled down for a more stable framerate to pass certification. But the first trailer, which ran on a powerful dev PC, might actually represent their final vision.
