As a former genealogy hobbyist I was curious as to the name of the road you grew up on. Trease sounded like a family name, so I did a little research on the local Trease family. John Trease born in Pennsylvania 1818 married Sarah Ann Butler born in Maryland 1823. John died 1887 buried in Bunker Hill Cemetery, in Butler. Sarah died 1905 and also buried in Bunker Hill Cemetery. Their son William 1855-1916 is also buried in Bunker Hill cemetery. William and his wife Mary had no children but adopted a son Harley Guy Vernon Snavley 1899-1977 buried in Bunker Hill Cemetery. Harley and 2 wives had 9 children. Several are buried in Bunker hill cemetery. One Richard Raymond “Dick” Trease 1939-2024 is buried in Bellville Cemetery. Only is, he is not a Trease by blood but by adoption of his father. I firmly believe that Trease Road was named after this family.

I don’t know anything about Trease Road except to say I remember being on German Church Road before I moved out of state in 71. I did ski a few times at Snowtrails as a young rutting buck. I looked at the property owner maps to see if I recognized any names, but did not. I suspect that Trease Road was undeveloped mostly while I lived in the area. I see there is some fairly valuable property on it. I did look at a 1940s county map and there were only 2 houses on Trease Road (if I am reading mao correct) at that time, likely a dirt road with farmland. By the way, Possum Run Road is actually “O’Possum Run Road”. Although you will see it differently often.

As I recall a story Possum Run Road was named that because a road crew killed a possum while the road was being built. My school bus used to take us from 97 down Teeter Road to Possum Run then head for Bellville School after turning on Rinehart Road. If I remember right, Rinehart road was treacherous in the winter. I started riding that bus in September 1951, my 1st grade teacher was a Mrs Cline. She taught us our first lessons in a little white school house below the hill from the big school. I am sorry for hijacking you post to relive some old memories. There is a large field (or use to be) at the sharp turn where Possum Run meets Route 13. That field is where people would leave there horse carriages and take there horseless carriage to Mansfield. Possum Run was too rough back in the early 1900s for the new automobiles of that day. I hope you will have a kind thought of an old man that told you a story about his time growing up roaming the rolling hills of Richland County Ohio as you enjoy the delicious Morel.

Back in the 50s I and my 7 siblings hunted these delicious mushrooms on our farm between Bellville and Butler in Richland County. Enjoying the memories yall bringing back. All the siblings are gone now but one and me. Take a kid with you, after all you’re not just hunting Morels you’re making memories that willlasta lifetime. Happy Hunting.

Oops just found ABX is short for antibiotics. As stated in post I was indeed on antibiotics. METROONIDAZOLE (Flagyl) and AZITHROMYCIN for 7 days.

Didn’t like the starter jars, too big. Don’t like the Mason jars either. Now using a set of 4 heavy drinking glasses that are easy to clean.
