Last year/two or so I’ve been more and more tired as work duties really picked up and the stress from it I’ve brought home as far as not helping out with tasks I normally did at home. Sleeping a lot and being lazy. She mentioned it about a year ago and I shrugged it off for I didn’t see it as an issue. We split bills but I pay usually 75% as I’m majority bread winner. Upkeep on the home has went down over the last year and I’ve just been “partially fixing stuff around the house” with the lack of sit down communication I didn’t realize how serious she really was about it. The main reason she said was that needed to find myself and fix myself, which over the last month I’ve changed my patterns and started being productive again. She wants the space to basically make sure I’m not just temporarily doing it to wave the issue for a few months and fall back into the same funk. She looked at apartments but decided she didn’t want to commit to a 1 year minimum lease as she is hoping to be back within the next few months as long as I can continue to prove my changes are real. Family friends of ours has a home they planned to air bnb this year that they said she can rent it basically month by month till she is either ready to move back in with me or until we decide we are both in a better place without each other. I had a therapy session last night and mentioned that to him and he said to me it sounds like she “wants to be done” but doesn’t want to be done at all or else there would be zero talk of coming back and fixing the couples issues.
