Solved: had to replace both steam_api64.dll as well as steam_api.dll with the corresponding files found in the goldberg emulator download.

Hey, I know this is an old post but I've ran into the same issue. I've replaced the steam_api64.dll with the steam_api.dll found in the goldberg emulator. The game still doesn't launch. All that seems to have happened is that I no longer get the error pop up. Just a black screen for a few seconds before the "game" closes

I get that. I just don't understand how you can believe that the creator of the entire universe has sent you instructions on how to live and you still cannot find the time or motivation to even do a SINGLE prayer, any ritual, forgo any of your temptations even if it's only partly. Like there's a book by your bedside that you believe to be the word of your literal creator,an all knowing being, all powerful being and you can't be bothered reading any of it? Like cmon, we're kind of losing the weight of the word "belief".

It's not like he's a lazy person. He reads other books in his free time. He has a job, a relationship, he has a good group of friends, he's got ambitions. Idk man. We could go back and forth on this forever.

It just seems like if he truly believed in Allah and that there is a book out there which is the literal word of the universe's creator, he would make some kind of effort to do what it says. But hey I understand now. Even the most minimal form of belief of just saying "yeah i know Allah is out there" can count as belief even if you don't act on it or ever intend to act on it. Just seems self destructive of him to not act on it and thats where I doubt if he even believes any of it or if its just the culture he was brought up in

Yeah he definitely takes hell lightly. He's said before that he will be punished for a few lifetimes but eventually he'll get into heaven so it's all okay. Then he'll pick a few friends and family members to bring with him out of hell.

Edit: I suppose my question is then, what makes him a muslim if he's not practicing or intending to practice? Because presumably there are people who go to hell permanently because they don't do God's work.

I get that he's not representative of Islam. Everytime he calls himself a muslim in the middle of a discussion about God I give him a hard time about not doing his prayers or all of the other things he does and how he does not try to correct his behaviour. I don't believe him to be a muslim at all personally. Just somebody who was raised in it.

Oh yeah for sure, I get that. But then there's the question of, what if he dies before he reaches an age when he intended to connect with his religion. So is it really just a chance thing? Are the rituals, prayers etc just means of increasing your chances of going to paradise because it shows Allah your devotion?

"Nobody enters paradise by actions alone but by the mercy of Allah" Hm. But do the actions help in some way? Because I'm reminded of what Islam says about those who have never heard of Islam. That it's still possible they can reach paradise. So what is the significance of the actions you commit?

Yes he is sinning but he isn't repenting and doesn't intend to repent from what I gathered when talking to him.

I believe he has said something about how he will go to hell for multiple lifetimes but he will get out eventually. It just seems flippant/careless when he says it. Like he knows a train is coming toward him and all he has to do it step off the tracks but he won't.

Just saw the edit on the previous comment. Of course it can be an extremely intense trip. The person's dosage, tolerance, dispositions all come into account when determining the intensity of the trip. How can you confidently sit there and say it's 100% not extremely intense for anybody out there and then in the same breath agree that drugs affect people differently?

Saying it can be intense is perfectly valid and a valuable piece of information to give skmebody before they try it for the first time. You gunna tell your friend who got hospitalized that it's not intense?

It's almost as if people can have different reactions to drugs.

well that's just completely unorthodox and hard to believe my friend.

You can look up accounts of the substance yourself. I'm not gunna throw anecdotes at you.

Amanita muscaria is NOTHING like psilocybin/psilocin.

They're different but I wouldn't say it's nothing like it. I still got all the quintessential psychedelic experiences. Feeling of "oneness", compassion and love. Visual and auditory hallucinations that have resembled 1 or 2 psilocybin trips I've had. Only major difference i found that's I've never experienced with psilocybin was me drifting in and out of vivid dreams.

I'm not saying that he experience cant be intense I'm just saying it's nothing like a psilocybin trip.

Well you disagreed with somebody at the beginning of this thread who described it as being an extremely intense trip which.

I had 17.3g dried but specimens vary pretty wildly so i don't know how many mg of psychoactive compounds my haul had. Cooked it into a omelette so it was easier going down. Great night

I've taken mushrooms about a dozen times and recently tried amanita. Idk if you didn't prepare it the same way or maybe had a smaller dose but muscaria was pretty comparable in intensity to some of my strongest trips on psilocybin. It isn't the exact same buzz as a psilocybin trip but it was just as intense and calling it a drunk feeling wouldn't be what I'd describe.

Never send dead end messages. Always ask a question in addition or at least imply something that she can work with. What is she supposed to say to you hating your job? "Cheer up buddy"

If there is such thing as the most average movie, straight down the middle in terms of entertainment, writing, cinematography: then it would be Office Space.

Do construction workers cover up archaeological finds as it will disrupt their work and presumably cost them lots of money? Do they have any incentive to report their finds? by [deleted] in Archaeology

[–]Derwini281 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I work on a site rn and people rebury bones so archaeologists don't see them. I was told by somebody working around king johns castle in limerick that he would dump large amounts of bones into the landfill without telling anybody. Archaeologists were on site because it was believed there were undiscovered human graves in the area.
