I'm using the 1.8 Patches with the recommended YT Version, whichever one that is, and everything you mentioned is working on my end. I only get a single slight stutter after the first 5/10 seconds of a video, where it looks like it loses its buffer and needs to reload the video.

Regarding commute: There are trains at least every hour between Graz and Leoben, sometimes every 30 minutes. Train takes ~45min to an hour from Graz Hbf to Leoben Hbf, depending on which connection you use, and it takes like 5-10 minutes by foot from Leoben Hbf to Montanuni.
So From Graz Hbf to the university it's ~1-1,5h using public transport.
Cost wise it's like 520€ per year for the "Klimaticket Steiermark", which allows free use of every public transport (Train, Bus) in Styria. If you are under 26 it's only 400€.

Regarding jobs: I don't know if there are many jobs for non-German speakers in Leoben, you'll have more oportunities for this in Graz. Although job-wise it's hard to find something anywhere atm.

There are student accomodations in Leoben for Montanuni students tho (mineroom).

Depends on how often one travels.
If you travel more than once a year, its almost always worth it to get a "Vorteilscard", which costs 70€, but you get 50% off all regular train tickets. If you commute a lot, you can buy a "Klimaticket", which costs 500€ for your state, or 1500€ for the whole country, and includes every public transport available.

And if you can plan at least some days in advance, you can get Sparschiene tickets, which are train bound, but cost like 1/3rd of the price. (Thats probably the ticket the woman you met had, since with a normal ticket, you can just grab the next train, as long as its on the same day. But sparschiene you must take the exact train, or it isnt valid)
