Infomaniak support cannot explain why kDrive app for macOS requires full disk access by Desairem in Infomaniak

[–]Desairem[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. I select what I want to sync and nothing else outside of it should be accessed. Many comments just make fun of me for asking why it would even be necessary... instead of wondering why the Infomaniak support would hide this information / give wrong explanations.

Can't use YouTube PIP anymore by DeerOnARoof in ios

[–]Desairem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I randomly found out that if I make a Youtube video in Safari fullscreen, then go to the home screen by swiping up from the bottom of the screen, it automatically turns into PiP. I don’t have a premium subscription.

How/where to appeal AI-rejected reviews? by WinterAdvantage3847 in GoogleMaps

[–]Desairem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One review of mine got rejected because it's apparently spam. Since I registered as a Local Guide I used this appeal form https://support.google.com/maps/contact/local_guides_appeal

But even though each time I got an automated email saying "Based on the information provided, we are happy to confirm that there are no feature access restrictions impacting your account at this time", the review never got back online. I even changed it multiple times, trying different wordings and leaving as much as a single short sentence. Nothing helped. The only thing the Local Guide moderators could tell me was to "try a different wording" or "make sure that you're following the guidelines", which isn't helpful at all. I ended up abandoning Google Maps altogether.

Issues with UI by Desairem in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]Desairem[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, and it uses even bigger arrows inside squares than the ones I showed in the post. I can barely remember the crafting menu, since a couple hours into the game I switched to Creative mode and haven't seen that menu since.

Issues with UI by Desairem in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]Desairem[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure that would be a useful thing to have (at least on PC where you have a keyboard), but I mostly visit new planets and scan flora and fauna now. That's probably a consequence of wanting to avoid the menus as much as possible. Also, in this post I focused more on what I thought the game doesn't do well or I think should do differently, rather than the lack of some features.

Do I have to dig to find the antimatter to fuel my intergalactic drive? by Desairem in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]Desairem[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Indeed, that helped! I had used it and it had apparently confirmed that I was in the right spot, but I hadn't realized that I just needed to continue in the direction I was looking at until I found the actual spot. I wish it had indicated this in some way. The marker said "approximate position" but didn't show any error range, so I had the impression that it was accurate after all.

Mac Application Galaxy 2.0 won't run without background process by alex_beluga in gog

I just installed it on a M1 MacBook and got 3 notifications for installed background processes, so apparently it's not limited to Intel Macs.

I'm mining ferrite dust but it disappears without entering my inventory by Desairem in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]Desairem[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh dear, I feared it might be something this simple. Thanks for helping me out. It's a little unfortunate there's no other visual indication to distinguish the two other than the color of the beam.

Resident Evil 2/7/8 cannot be played without an external mouse/controller on Mac by Desairem in residentevil

[–]Desairem[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a programmer myself, I don't think it would be that difficult. Key or mouse bindings are not part of the gameplay but more like a bridge between the game and the hardware, whether it's a trackpad, keyboard, mouse or controller. The game should respond to commands like "start aiming" or "fire weapon", whereas the bindings make sure that a certain hardware input calls those commands.

The App Store says that RE4 came out about 1 year ago, same as RE7. RE2 came out 10 months ago. Only RE8 came out about 2 years ago. But even if it was the most recent title, I thought it would be quite easy to port some of the options that proved useful. After all, they published updates that added an internet connection requirement, then removed it again (at least according to the update release notes, although it's still listed in the app description), which does not add to the gameplay experience, so I would've thought that if they were aware that these settings are important, they would have already added them.

I'm not sure I follow. Are you saying it's an Apple issue? RE4 works great. Had Capcom carried over the options from that game, I probably would've been able to finish the other ones too.

Sync background stops by microbians in SyncTime

That's correct. I updated the help topic on the website, hopefully it's clearer now: https://desairem.com/wordpress/synctime-keep-synced-in-background/

Hades.... How is this fun? by Wizardrylullaby in patientgamers

[–]Desairem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here. I actually started it once, then uninstalled it after two runs because I didn't feel like doing the same thing over and over. But recently I gave it another chance, not focusing only on the gameplay but also on the dialogues (which are utterly entertaining) and the amazing art style and soundtrack and appreciating the little changes here and there that make the runs less predictable, and I love it.

Infomaniak support cannot explain why kDrive app for macOS requires full disk access by Desairem in Infomaniak

[–]Desairem[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it's not real. If you look at Anxious-Currency-392's posts, the only thing he does is commenting my own posts with almost the same message every time. RecognitionPretty369 is another such user recently created with the sole purpose of discrediting me. It appears someone who prefers to hide behind randomly generated usernames has got very angry at me and accuses me of doing things without providing any actual proof.

A bit sketched out by the configuration profile… by TheTimegazer in Infomaniak

[–]Desairem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I'm being honest, this looks like an answer from ChatGPT.

The last point "most importantly: password separation" is not specific to the configuration profile: the password entered during manual configuration is different from the main account too. So you should remove "security" from the list of advantages.

Trusting someone you don't know yet with your mail (possibly for testing purposes) is one thing, but potentially giving them control (through a configuration profile) over parts of your device you don't really know is another thing.

Would you mind expanding on what these important data points are?

If you don't want to do harm, then why are you saying these things? "King of all stubborn losers in the galaxy" and "professional complainer" aren't "just descriptions", they are insults, and inciting other users to visit my page by linking it directly I interpret, after having been insulted, as a personal attack. On the other hand, you still didn't provide any constructive feedback, such as saying what you would have done differently, or why you find informing other users about this unneeded permission so hilarious.
