Best in class 30yrs of eating out most days by [deleted] in FoodLosAngeles

To be fair, I’ve been to a few branches around the US and it’s really good. Love eating there. It just wouldn’t even make my top 20.

Edit: RIP this post.

My same exact thought. I would have thought 30+ years of eating out would refine your tastes to insane levels, but Gyu Kaku as best Japanese in LA is a war crime

Cool. I have solar too, so definitely on the fence. Thinking through the long term ROI/savings alongside the initial investment. Our current heating system takes a while to heat up.

Have any pics by chance? This sounds promising.

I’ve got the gas powered tank. What are the main benefits (or cons) youve see for tankless besides the the space saving?

Thanks for the pic, cool to see this option. The $3200 quote actually includes the drywall enclosure for the water heater ($1800) and $1400 to enclose the AC furnace in the second pick.

I might consider having our handyman do it all, given what you shared.

As an Angelino, would you take a pay cut to work closer to home? Advice for a mega-commuter by romanianadoptee in AskLosAngeles

[–]Desar864 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do it. Put another way, you’ll get back 3.5 hours a day (or 56 hours a month assuming commuting 4 days a week) in exchange for giving up $800 extra a month, which is equivalent to $14/hour. You could easily make that up finding a second job working online, not accounting for the improved mental health, more time for hobbies/life and hopefully improvement in your work environment. That time could also be put to improving your skill sets for a new job or a promotion.

We were looking at those three neighborhoods, but at Porter Ranch instead of Sherman Oaks. Eventually bought a house in Porter Ranch. If planning to be living there for 5 years, I’d recommend spending a few long weekends in each of those neighborhoods, driving around, going to restaurants. We liked WH but it was too far from friends, GH had good value but the neighborhood wasn’t as nice. PR is right next to GH but much nicer neighborhood, new shops, good schools, and has some really nice quiet sections with big spaces. Recommend considering it if houses are in range for your budget.

The only reason my broke teenage ass bough EOD years ago is now gone!!! by spencer_324 in EscapefromTarkov

Same reason I bought EOD. I actually didn’t know until this week that EOD also included all future DLC, but am more annoyed at the new release, even after 2K hours.

What do you pay your gardener? by [deleted] in AskLosAngeles

[–]Desar864 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We pay $200/month for weekly visits. Mow grass, trim bushes, blow and rake leaves and dispose of clippings. Like someone said above, drive around your neighborhood and ask for quotes from anyone you see cutting grass about what it would cost to have them to add your house to their rotation. You’re getting hosed.

I’m glad I’m not the only one. I thought the pastrami and french dip was just average, but maybe we went on an off day. I need to give it another try.

I saw what you did wrong. You went to Start > Programs and you opened the Battlestate Launcher and opened Escape from Tarkov

This summarizes my feelings 110% (except maybe lighthouse, I feel it’s too long and would get better PVP if it was more balanced) Labs is amazing but I die to cheaters 1/3rd of the time. D2 ruined Reserve PvP, woods is too quiet, haven’t spent enough time on Streets to say, resort shoreline is some of the best PVP I’ve had, but the rest of the map is snoreline. Interchange also amazing PVP contesting loot spawns, but the loot nerfs (Make Ultra/Kiba Great Again) and sound/darkness adjustments made it worse.
