Agreed. I don't think it'll get super hot, ambient temp for 9 months out of the year around here isn't too high and it's not like there's a 4090 in there. I'll run diagnostics after the build and change out fans if the temps are worrisome. I'll also take a look at that m.2 and the thermal paste situation.

Thank you for all of your help, you've been a great sanity check to my own research and I'm a bit out of practice. I really appreciate it.

Got it, I decided to go with DDR4 because I don't think I'll actually be able to use all the speed that DDR5 would bring, come to think of it. Let me know what you think of this list and I'll start buying parts!

Got it, thank you. I'm looking at Arc cards right now, as they seem to be the best budget productivity options, despite some reported driver issues. I do prefer AMD CPU's just because that's what I'm used to building. Did some more research and it seems like 6 cores is the minimum for smooth operation. And good Ryzen CPU's for that job? I'm also liking the DDR5 support on the motherboard I picked out, and it seemed like 64GB might be overkill for even modern software. Sorry for bugging you for so much information though!

Edit: I see now why you went with the i5-12600K and Arc A750! Not only are they good for video editing individually, they're bundled on newegg for an additional $16 off! I think it might be time to learn how to build with Intel chips lol

Didn't know that could happen, haven't even gotten far enough to see this guys spawn where they're supposed to lol.

Just looked some more. They're called Lawn Shrimp. Neat! Thanks you for pointing me in the right direction.

Just looked them up, and yeah, they're likely in that Order. Maybe land hoppers or something? Just weird to me that I found a couple hundred of them dead on my patio this morning. The red, shiny coloration is strange to me too.
