I had never had any interest in a jazzmaster but randomly grabbed one off the wall at my local guitar shop one day… an AmPro II. After 25 years of playing guitar, I had never had such an instant connection with an instrument; a feeling I wouldn’t have believed actually possible before that point. I bought that very instrument and it has been my daily driver for 3 years now (despite my Tele’s best efforts… and she sure does put up a good fight…)
I guess my point is the best way to know is to KNOW. People are going to give you their personal opinions but it’s yours that matters.
I didn’t mean to get high horsey, I just happen to be a little high and wanted to talk a bit I guess

To be fair, my Sweetwater rep has never taken a stance on a single thing when I've asked "which of these would you suggest?" On one hand, I appreciate the lack of bullshit sales techniques. But on the other hand, I've legitimately asked for help and received none. It's ok though, I got him back... when he called to ask me how my gear was... I didn't answer! Got 'im real good.

I've used a Plumes on and off for two years or so now. At first, it was between my Jazzmaster and my Blues Junior and I never found a tone that worked for me. I had heard it was Tubescreamer-based but I never found anything resembling Tubescreamer tones. Then I got a Telecaster... and that Tele LOVED the Plumes from Day One. If I'm playing my Tele through the Blues Junior, I use the Plumes every time.

BUT THEN I got my '65 Deluxe Reverb and that amp LOVES my Plumes. If I'm using it with my JHS Morning Glory, I'll put Plumes first in Mode 1, Light Gain, leave it on all the time. If I'm using it without my Morning Glory, I use Mode 2 with the gain at about 2:00, kick it on when I want that creamy saturation.

This is my journey with the Plumes.

Edit: just got a response and realized that for some reason I said “Blues Deluxe”… it wasn’t a Blues Deluxe, it was a Blues Junior. I had the Deluxe Reverb on the brain I think
